An article of apparel has a surface with a first part of a fastening system, and an attachment element has an outer area with a second part of the fastening system. The first part of the fastening system is joinable to the second part of the fastening system to attach the attachment element to the apparel. The first part of the fastening system is also separable from the second part of the fastening system to separate the attachment element from the apparel. The attachment element may be formed from a polymer foam material, may include a fluid-filled chamber, or may incorporate an electronic device, for example. In some configurations, the attachment element is secured to an exterior of the apparel. In other configurations, the attachment element is secured between two layers of the apparel.

A fabric pouch is provided for containing an athletic support cup, and this pouch is disposed within the interior cavity of the pants proximate to the front face. The pouch is attached to the waistband by a top attachment panel, and it is attached to the front face of the pants on right and left sides of the pouch by side wing attachment panels. The side wing attachment panels are spaced apart from each other so as to leave a tip portion of the pouch unattached.

Garments with finishing patterns created by laser and neural network

Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. A technique includes using machine learning to create or extract a laser input file for wear pattern from an existing garment. Machine learning can be by a generative adversarial network, having generative and discriminative neural nets. The generative adversarial network is trained and then used to create a model. This model is used generate the laser input file from an image of the existing garment with the finishing pattern. With this laser input file, a laser can re-create the wear pattern from the existing garment onto a new garment.

In some embodiments, a garment includes an outer shell coupled to a band and an inner shell disposed within the outer shell and coupled to the band. The outer shell includes a first material having a first surface area, and the inner shell includes a second material having a second surface area that is less than the first surface area. A pocket is coupled to, and extends from, an inner surface of the outer shell. A coupling mechanism secures the pocket to the inner shell. In some embodiments, the coupling mechanism is a second pocket comprising the second material and coupled to the inner shell. In some embodiments, the coupling mechanism includes a stitch or a tether.
