Protective overgarment
The protective overgarment is intended for use by persons who engage in potentially hazardous activities, such as motorcycling and mountaineering. The overgarment is formed of generally circumferential elements that extend around the legs, torso, and arms of the wearer. The circumferential elements are connected by a plurality of connecting elements that extend along the sides of the torso and limbs of the wearer. The elements define corresponding open ventilation passages therebetween, providing greater comfort for the wearer during warm weather. Each of the elements is formed of at least one distinct layer. One layer may be a sheet of resilient rubber or the like. Another layer may be pneumatically inflated or filled with foam plastic material. Yet another layer may also be foam-filled and covered with a stretch fabric for comfort. Additional knee, shoulder, and chest protection is provided by removable rigid plates.
Ventilated and Protective Articles of Apparel
A system may include an article of apparel and a fluid source. The article of apparel incorporates a plurality of fluid channels, and the apparel includes a fluid connector in fluid communication with the fluid channels. A fluid source is configured to join with the fluid connector and supply a fluid to the fluid channels. The article of apparel may include a pad component formed from a polymer foam material, which defines the fluid channels. A pair of material elements may be secured to opposite sides of the pad component, with one of the material elements being fluid permeable adjacent to at least a portion of the fluid channels.
Layered protective structure for protective garments and equipment and an elastic layer
A layered protective structure for protective garments and equipment is disclosed. The layered protective structure comprises three layers. The first layer is the outermost layer, and it is the most rigid of the layers and has first layer holes that have at their edges rim structures extending inward into the protective structure. The second layer is an elastic net-like structure that is configured to fit at least partly between the rim structures. The first layer and the second layer are on top of the third layer, which is the innermost of the layers (i.e., towards the user when the protective structure is in use). The third layer is made of a softer and more flexible material than the first layer. The second layer spreads the impact forces and conveys at least part of them to the third layer.
CONFORMAL PROTECTIVE HEAD WEAR
A protective clothing device having an article of clothing having an inner layer and/or an outer layer is disclosed. The protective clothing device may have thin force absorbing members coupled to the inner layer or outer layer of the article of clothing. The force absorbing members can have overlapping or interlaced portions for enhanced protection even when the protective clothing device expands. In one embodiment, the protective clothing device may be a protective hat. In another embodiment, the protective clothing device may be a headband.
Protective blazer for motorcyclists
Some embodiments provide a protective motorcycle blazer for protecting a motorcyclist. The protective motorcycle blazer includes an outer layer comprising textile fabric for providing an appearance of a blazer, a middle layer comprising abrasion resistant material for providing abrasion resistance to the protective motorcycle blazer, and an inner layer for providing an interface between the motorcyclist and the protective motorcycle blazer.
Face mask and shield combination
An assembly is provided. The assembly may include a face mask to conform to a face of a user, the face mask including an adapter including one or more venting pathways to alter a direction of one or more exhaled gasses traveling in an initial direction. An assembly may include a face shield, the face shield selectively engageable with the face mask. An assembly may include a connector including a magnetic engagement structure to couple the face mask to the face shield in a predetermined orientation.
Protective jacket for motorcyclists with a detachable blazer
Some embodiments provide a protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer for protecting a motorcyclist. The protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer includes an outer layer comprising textile fabric for providing an appearance of a blazer, and an inner layer comprising abrasion resistant material for providing abrasion resistance to the protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer.
Protective Jacket for Motorcyclists with a Detachable Garment
Some embodiments provide a protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer for protecting a motorcyclist. The protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer includes an outer layer comprising textile fabric for providing an appearance of a blazer, and an inner layer comprising abrasion resistant material for providing abrasion resistance to the protective motorcycle jacket with a detachable blazer.
