The present invention provides novel chromatographic materials, e.g., for chromatographic separations, processes for its preparation and separations devices containing the chromatographic material; separations devices, chromatographic columns and kits comprising the same; and methods for the preparation thereof. The chromatographic materials of the invention are chromatographic materials comprising having a narrow particle size distribution.
PSA-functionalized sol-gel sorbent materials and methods of preparation
The invention provides a sorbent material comprising a PSA that is synthesized via a sol-gel process. The sorbent material enables higher loading of PSA and other functional groups than conventional sorbents. The sorbent material can further encapsulate carbonaceous and/or non-carbonaceous particles that are distributed throughout the sorbent network. The invention also relates to a method of making the sorbent materials.
Hybrid material for chromatographic separations comprising a superficially porous core and a surrounding material
The present invention provides novel chromatographic materials, e.g., for chromatographic separations, processes for their preparation and separations devices containing the chromatographic materials. The preparation of the inorganic/organic hybrid materials of the invention wherein a surrounding material is condensed on a superficially porous hybrid core material will allow for families of different hybrid packing materials to be prepared from a single core hybrid material. Differences in hydrophobicity, ion-exchange capacity, chemical stability, surface charge or silanol activity of the surrounding material may be used for unique chromatographic separations of small molecules, carbohydrates, antibodies, whole proteins, peptides, and/or DNA.
Composite materials containing nanoparticles and their use in chromatography
Novel porous materials comprising nanoparticles, use in chromatographic separations, processes for its preparation, and separations devices containing the chromatographic material are described by the instant invention. In particular, the disclosure describes porous inorganic/organic hybrid particles embedded with nanoparticles selected from oxides or nitrides of the following: silicon carbide, aluminum, diamond, cerium, carbon black, carbon nanotubes, zirconium, barium, cerium, cobalt, copper, europium, gadolinium, iron, nickel, samarium, silicon, silver, titanium, zinc, boron, and mixtures thereof.
Adsorbent for halogenated anaesthetics
An adsorbent for halogenated anaesthetics includes: an inorganic material; and an organic material providing a framework for the inorganic material. The inorganic material may be chromium and the organic material may be terephthalic acid. The adsorbent may be formed or configured such that the adsorbent includes coordinatively unsaturated sites or such that the inorganic material may form octahedral structures. The adsorbent is formed or configured to be substantially regenerated at approximately room temperature and to provide selectivity for sevofluorane in water vapor of approximately 1.0. A method of producing an adsorbent includes: selecting an appropriate chemical containing an inorganic material; selecting an organic material to provide a framework for the inorganic material; dissolving the base chemical in water; mixing the organic material with the dissolved base chemical; heating the mixture; filtering the mixture to remove excess organic material; and drying the filtrate.
Modified hydrophobic sponges
Articles are provided for absorbing fluids. In embodiments, the articles of the present disclosure are modified to make them hydrophobic, thereby decreasing their affinity for water and similar liquids, while increasing their affinity for other hydrophobic materials, including oil. After use, the articles, in embodiments sponges, may have their absorbed materials removed therefrom, and the articles may then be re-used to absorb additional materials.
FILTRATION MATERIAL, FILTRATION FILTER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FILTRATION MATERIAL, FILTRATION METHOD, COPOLYMER, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING COPOLYMER
A filtration material including a silica base material having a group represented by the following general formula (a0-1) [in formula (a0-1), Ya.sup.01 represents a divalent linking group; Ra.sup.01 represents a hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent; Ra.sup.02 represents a hydroxyl group or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms which may have a substituent; n.sup.01 represents an integer of 0 to 5; and the symbol “*” represents a valence bond with respect to the silica base material].

Contaminate sequestering coatings and methods of using the same
Contaminate-sequestering coatings including a network of hydrolyzed silane compounds including a plurality of thiol functional groups, a plurality of fluorinated functionalities, or both are provided. The contaminate-sequestering coatings may sequester one or more per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), heavy metals, biological species or any combination thereof. Methods of functionalizing a substrate surface with contaminate-sequestering functionalities that sequester one or more PFAS, heavy metals, or both are also provided. Methods of removing contaminants from contaminate-containing liquids, and devices including the contaminate-sequestering coatings are also provided.
ORGANIC-INORGANIC HYBRID NANOPOROUS SILICA MATERIAL HAVING HIGH SELECTIVITY TO METAL ION, AND METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME
The present invention relates to an organic-inorganic hybrid nanoporous silica material having high selectivity to particular metal ions, and a method for preparing the same. Specifically, the present invention provides an organic-inorganic hybrid nanoporous silica material and a method for preparing the same, wherein the organic-inorganic hybrid nanoporous silica material has a closed pore form by capturing a functionalized silane compound in a nanoporous silica material, which is surface-modified with a functionalized silane compound, using a cyclic molecule, and enables the sensing and highly selective adsorption of various metals due to the incorporation of an organic ligand capable of adsorbing metal ions in pores.
