METAL POWDEROUS CATALYST FOR HYDROGENATION PROCESSES
The present invention relates to a metal powder catalyst and its use in the selective catalytic hydrogenation of organic starting materials comprising a carbon-carbon triple bond. The powder catalyst comprises a metal alloy carrier, wherein the metal alloy comprises (i) 55 weight-% (wt-%)-80 wt-%, based on the total weight of the metal alloy, of Co, and (ii) 20 wt-%-40 wt-%, based on the total weight of the metal alloy, of Cr, and (iii) 2 wt-%-10 wt-%, based on the total weight of the metal alloy, of Mo, and wherein the said metal alloy is coated by a metal oxide layer and impregnated with Pd, and is characterized in that the metal oxide layer comprises CeO.sub.2.
PROCESSES FOR PRODUCING TRIFLUOROIODOMETHANE AND TRIFLUOROACETYL IODIDE
The present disclosure provides a process for producing trifluoroiodomethane, the process comprising providing a reactant stream comprising hydrogen iodide and at least one trifluoroacetyl halide selected from the group consisting of trifluoroacetyl chloride, trifluoroacetyl fluoride, trifluoroacetyl bromide, and combinations thereof, reacting the reactant stream in the presence of a first catalyst at a first reaction temperature from about 25 C. to about 400 C. to produce an intermediate product stream comprising trifluoroacetyl iodide, and reacting the intermediate product stream in the presence of a second catalyst at a second reaction temperature from about 200 C. to about 600 C. to produce a final product stream comprising the trifluoroiodomethane.

A process for preparing a catalyst comprises coating substantial internal surfaces of porous inorganic powders with titanium oxide to form titanium oxide-coated inorganic powders. After the coating, an extrudate comprising the titanium oxide-coated inorganic powders is formed and calcined to form a catalyst support. Then, the catalyst support is impregnated with a solution containing one or more salts of metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum, cobalt, and nickel.
REMOVING AND CLEANING DEHYDROGENATION CATALYSTS
Oxidative dehydrogenation catalysts including mixed oxides of Mo, V, Nb, Te, and optionally a promoter may be dissolved in aqueous solutions of oxalic acid. This permits the removal of catalyst and catalyst residues from reactors for the oxidative dehydrogenation of paraffins and particularly ethane.

The present disclosure provides a process for producing trifluoroiodomethane, the process comprising providing a reactant stream comprising hydrogen iodide and at least one trifluoroacetyl halide selected from the group consisting of trifluoroacetyl chloride, trifluoroacetyl fluoride, trifluoroacetyl bromide, and combinations thereof, reacting the reactant stream in the presence of a first catalyst at a first reaction temperature from about 25? C. to about 400? C. to produce an intermediate product stream comprising trifluoroacetyl iodide, and reacting the intermediate product stream in the presence of a second catalyst at a second reaction temperature from about 200? C. to about 600? C. to produce a final product stream comprising the trifluoroiodomethane.

A metal substrate for catalytic converter for purifying an exhaust gas includes a honeycomb core with metal flat foil and corrugated foil stacked in layers, and an oxide film having a thickness of 0.1 m or more and 10 m or less is formed in a predetermined range including an exposed end surface exposed toward the gas inlet side. The oxide film contains at least a first alumina including -alumina and a Fe oxide. The -alumina contains -alumina with solid-solved Fe and -alumina with no solid-solved Fe. In the oxide film, the content of the first alumina is 30% by mass or more and 99.5% by mass or less, the content of the Fe oxide is 0.5% by mass or more and 40% by mass or less, and the content of Fe is more than 7% by mass and 35% by mass or less.

A method for producing a catalyst according to the present invention includes: a preparation step of preparing a precursor slurry comprising molybdenum, bismuth, iron, silica, and a carboxylic acid; a drying step of spray-drying the precursor slurry and thereby obtaining a dried particle; and a calcination step of calcining the dried particle, wherein the preparation step comprises: a step (I) of mixing a starting material for silica with the carboxylic acid and thereby preparing a silica-carboxylic acid mixed liquid; and a step (II) of mixing the silica-carboxylic acid mixed liquid, molybdenum, bismuth, and iron.

The material may be sulfided to generate metal sulfides which are used as a catalyst in a conversion process such as hydroprocessing. The hydroprocessing may include hydrodenitrification, hydrodesulfurization, hydrodemetallation, hydrodesilication, hydrodearomatization, hydroisomerization, hydrotreating, hydrofining, and hydrocracking.
