COOLING GARMENT
The invention relates to a cooling garment for cooling a torso of a wearer, comprising a front and a rear panel with a neck opening therebetween, wherein the front panel and the rear panel together comprise one single cooling section composed of two outer layers with a water absorbent layer sandwiched therebetween. The two outer layers are sealed together along their edges to form a single compartment for the storage of water, wherein the portions of the compartment that are at the front and the rear panel are in fluid communication with one another over the shoulders. Both outer layers are impermeable to water but permeable to water vapor. The cooling garment may be activated by filling the compartment with water via an inlet in one of the outer layers.
Ballistic Vest
A protective garment includes a shell and an insert. The shell includes a front layer and a rear layer coupled to the front layer. The front layer and the rear layer form a void therebetween. The insert is disposed within the void. The insert includes a main body defining a first lateral side, a second lateral side opposite the first lateral side, and a bottom edge extending between the first lateral side and the second lateral side. The bottom edge defines a recess between the first lateral side and the second lateral side.
IMPACT-RESISTANT CHEST PROTECTOR
An apparel system configured to be worn on a torso of a wearer is disclosed. The apparel system includes an apparel having an area configured to cover at least a left pectoral region of the wearer when the apparel is worn. The apparel system includes a rigid plate configured to be coupled to the apparel at a location covering the left pectoral region of the wearer when the apparel is worn. The rigid plate has a contour corresponding to the left pectoral region of the wearer. The apparel system lacks any additional rigid plate other than the rigid plate. A protective element configured to be worn by a wearer is also disclosed. The protective element comprises a rigid plate configured to cover a left pectoral region of the wearer when the protective element is worn. The rigid plate has a contour corresponding to the left pectoral region of the wearer.
Clothing
To make available clothing that supports the wearer's muscles to enable capacity for and flexibility in movement to be improved in situations such as during sports, during heavy lifting, or being under nursing care. Clothing involving the present invention is furnished with an upper-body piece for covering at least a portion of the upper half of the body, and an upper-body support unit formed on the upper-body piece. The upper-body support unit includes an upper-body first support section situated in sites following at least a portion of the psoas major muscles an upper-body second support section situated in sites following the supraspinatus muscles, and an upper-body third support section situated in sites following the teres major muscles.
CLOTHING ARTICLE HAVING A SUPPORT MEMBER
A clothing article having a support member is provided. The clothing article includes an outer shell, a portion of the outer shell being dimensioned to fit loosely on a body of a wearer. A support structure has a support member supporting the body of the wearer when positioned thereon, and fits snugly on the body of the wearer, At least one tether portion extends between the support member and at least one connection region that is secured to the outer shell. At least a part of the at least one tether portion is dimensioned to enable the outer shell to move substantially freely relative to the support member when the clothing article is worn by the wearer.
BODY LIMB PROTECTION SYSTEM
A body limb protection system includes an outer layer, an inner layer, and a force dampening and defusing structure. The outer layer includes a first material composition and has an exterior surface that includes a substantially planer area. The inner layer includes a second material composition and has a shape corresponding to a body limb portion. The force dampening and defusing structure is positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer. The force dampening and defusing structure has a shape corresponding to a difference between the shapes of the inner and outer layers. The force dampening and defusing structure includes a plurality of components arranged to reduce pressure on the body limb portion when a force is applied to the substantially planer area.
SPORTS UPPER BODY PROTECTIVE GEAR
A sports upper body protective gear may include a padded chest portion to extend over a chest of a sport participant and shoulder portions extending from the padded chest portion over shoulders of the sport participant. Each of the shoulder portions may include a shoulder pocket to removably receive a moldable and hardenable protective insert panel.
STANDALONE WEARABLE PROTECTOR AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a standalone wearable protector, including a thin layer supporting fabric, at least one inflatable bag housed in a seat provided in said supporting fabric, at least one gas generator acting as inflating means connected to said inflatable bag and fastened directly or indirectly to said supporting fabric, a control unit also fastened directly or indirectly to said supporting fabric and suitable for activating said inflating means and sensing means connected to said control unit and provided on said supporting fabric.
The present invention also relates to a protective clothing assembly comprising a protective garment made of material resistant to abrasion and friction stresses and said standalone wearable protector.
Ballistic Vest
A ballistic vest includes a carrier and at least two ballistic panels supported in the carrier, including a front ballistic panel and a back ballistic panel. The carrier is made from at least two layers of material including an outer layer and an inner layer that are joined to each other at the top and bottom of the vest and that are substantially open at the sides. The carrier has portions defining a left armhole and a right armhole. The two carrier layers define between them a panel space in the carrier. An upper part of the panel space is located above the bottom of the left and right armholes and a lower part of the panel space is located below the bottom of the left and right armholes. The front panel has an upper section that is positioned in the upper part of the panel space, the carrier substantially constraining lateral movement of the front panel upper section within the panel space. The front panel has a lower section that is positioned in the lower part of the panel space, the front panel lower section being substantially free to move laterally in the panel space. The back panel has an upper section that is positioned in the upper part of the panel space, the carrier substantially constraining lateral movement of the back panel upper section within the panel space. The back panel has a lower section that is positioned in the lower part of the panel space, the back panel lower section being substantially free to move laterally in the panel space.
SHOULDER PADS
Protective shoulder pads, such as the type worn for playing ice hockey, including a central panel configured to cover a portion of a chest of the wearer and defining a centerline extending centrally therethrough, and two side panels partially overlapping the central panel and each disposed on opposite sides of a centerline of the central panel. Each of the side panels is rotatable relative to he central panel about a rotation axis located proximate an upper end of each of the side panels, so as to adjust a width of the protective shoulder pad which is defined between opposed outer lateral edges of the side panels. The side panels are securable to the central panel at a plurality of attachment points to maintain a selected width of the adjustable shoulder pad.
