Method and apparatus for winding a liner inside a host pipe

The invention provides methods and apparatus for producing a spirally wound pipe or pipe liner, and also to a web for forming a spirally wound pipe or pipe liner. One aspect of the invention provides a method and an associated machine of winding a helically wound pipe from a web (200) having transversely spaced apart connecting formations (310, 320) adapted to interlock when the web is wound in a helical path and adjacent edge portions (300a. 300b) of the web overlap one another, wherein an exterior support means (400) for the connecting formation at the terminus of the pipe being helically wound from the web is provided, and a radially outwardly directed force is applied against an inner face (220) of the web and the support means (400) to pinch connecting formations into interlocking engagement. A further aspect of the invention provides an elongated web (200) comprising a wall portion (210) bound by edge portions (300a. 300b) and adapted to form a pipe by spirally winding said web and joining adjacent said edge portions, wherein a distal end of joined edge portions (330) of the web projecting from the wall portion (210) of the web is less than a spacing distance defined by a spacer rib (350) projecting from the wall portion, when the web is spirally wound and adjacent edge portions are joined together.

Construction kit and method for a housing structure of a monument for a vehicle cabin

A construction kit for a housing structure of a monument for a cabin of a vehicle, in particular of an aircraft includes a plurality of integrally formed sandwich panels which each have two cover panels, which surround a core, and are formed with panel connecting structures which are each formed as a plug region or as a mating plug region. The mating plug region is formed so as to be complementary to the plug region in such a way that a plug region of a sandwich panel can be plugged into the mating plug region of another sandwich panel to connect the sandwich panels.

A method of joining polymer components includes additively manufacturing first and second mating features on first and second polymer components such that a mechanical lock is created through undercut geometric features of an adhesive material when the polymer components are joined. Adhesive is added between the mating components to strengthen the joint.

One resin part has an engaged portion at an end portion. The engaged portion has a fit-together hole at an inner wall and a first extending piece disposed at a peripheral edge portion of the fit-together hole extends-out from a first side wall that connects the inner wall and the end portion of the one resin part. Another resin part is to be made integral with the one resin part, and the other resin part has an abutment wall and a second extending piece that extends-out from a distal end portion of the abutment wall. The abutment wall abuts the first side wall of the engaged portion, and the second extending piece abuts the first extending piece in a state in which the second extending piece has been inserted in the fit-together hole and the abutment wall is abutted the first side wall.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FRAMEWORK

With a method for producing a two-dimensional or three-dimensional framework (1) with rods (2) of a composite material with fibers and a matrix, which are connected with nodes (3) to at least one other rod (2) and/or another component (29), comprising the steps of: producing the rods (2) out of a composite material, connecting the rods (2) with at least one other rod (2) and/or another component (29) at the nodes (3), the framework (1) should be manufactured inexpensively and reliably by a low technical effort.

This object can be solved in a way that the rods (2) are being produced with pultrusion and/or extrusion and a pultrusion unit (6) and/or an extrusion unit (7) is moved in space such that after the pultrusion and/or extrusion the pultruded and/or extruded rods (2) are pultruded and/or extruded in each case at the required position within the framework (1).

A joint for use with a composite laminated component is disclosed herein. The joint includes a component including a partial U-shaped trapezoidal cavity and a triangular component. The partial trapezoidal component includes a base extending in a first direction, a first side extending away from the base at a first angle from the first direction, a second side extending away from the base at a second angle from the first direction and toward the first side, and an opening defined by the first side and the second side. The triangular component is coupled to the base and extending orthogonally away from the base in a second direction and toward the opening.

Method of fixing housing

There are included: a step of adjusting, on a surface of a base plate, the position of a housing which is made of a resin and is placed on the base plate so as to partially cover that base plate, to an extent that a contact portion of the housing with the base plate is kept straddling a groove that is formed on the surface of the base plate and has a width smaller than a width of the contact portion; a step of heating the base plate or the contact portion of the housing with the base plate while pressing the housing against the base plate; and a step of cooling the thus-heated base plate or contact portion of the housing with the base plate. This makes it possible to significantly improve the accuracy of the position adjustment.
