A radiolucent gown including fabric formed into an open anterior panel, a posterior panel and sleeves. Radiolucent anterior snaps and radiolucent sleeve snaps secure the anterior panel and the sleeves. The snaps are all manufactured from a composite material having a 10-45% chopped carbon fiber content and the carbon fibers have an average aspect ratio (L/W) of between 50-120. The snaps have a radio density of less than 60 Hounsfield units, and preferably less than 35 Hounsfield units at a tube voltage of 100-120 kVp. In one embodiment, the radio density of all snaps is between 35-60 Hounsfield units. The snaps all have a radio density of less than 35 Hounsfield units at a tube voltage of 100-120 kVp. Preferably, the snaps are the same shape and size and are size 20 snaps, having a 1.2 inch diameter.

A conformable garment may fit snugly against, and may exert pressure against, skin in a region of a user's body. The garment may house multiple sensors that touch the user's skin. Each sensor may exposed to the user's skin through a hole in an inner surface of the garment. The garment may include elongated channels. Flexible, stretchable wiring may pass through a hollow central region of each channel. This wiring may provide electrical power to the sensors, and may enable wired communication between the sensors and a main hub. Each sensor may include an integrated chip and may be encapsulated in a waterproof material. Each sensor may output electrical signals that encode digital data and that are transmitted, via the wiring, to a main hub housed in the garment. The encapsulated sensors and the wiring may remain in the garment when the garment is washed.

The elasticized portion comprises a fabric portion of the accessory or garment to be elasticized; and a length of elastic element. The length of elastic element is applied to the fabric by a means selected from the group consisting of direct welding and indirect welding. A method is provided for elasticizing a fabric, said elasticized fabric being free of stitches or holes. The method involves providing a stack of fabric to be elasticized; stretching and positioning a length of elastic element against a first of the fabric in the stack; applying one or more ends of the elastic element to the fabric by a means selected from directly welding and indirectly welding; moving the first fabric to expose the next fabric in the stack to be elasticized; and repeating the steps for the next fabric.
