Various embodiments of patient-mittens are disclosed and described. Such embodiments may include a hand-covering portion attached to a hollow elongate-sleeve portion. The hand-covering portion may cover the hand and fingers, preventing the patient from scratching themselves. The elongate-sleeve portion may cover a majority of an arm. Opposite from the hand-cover portion, there may be an arm-grabber attached at an end of the elongate-sleeve. This arm-grabber may squeeze the upper arm, above the elbow, to help keep the patient-mitten from coming off. Some embodiments, may include an access-slit on the elongate-sleeve for placing IVs and the like in a patient wearing the patient-mitten. The patient-mitten may help to minimize IVs and vital sign sensors from becoming dissociated from the patient. Some embodiments may be UV permeable to encourage vitamin D production in the patient. Some embodiments may provide a conducive environment for treating skin conditions on the arm, hand, or fingers.

A chemical protective poncho system for encapsulating a patient is presented. The system has a body extending a length between a top end and a bottom end and having a hood attached near the top end and having a liner attached near the bottom end. The system includes a layer of adsorbent impregnated media capable of filtering chemical agents while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through the material. The chemical protective poncho is specially adapted to fit over the top of a patient and chemically seal the lower portion of the patient while allowing the patient ambulatory freedom. The system also includes ports for intravenous access as well as a port for respiratory access. The system may also include a powered air purifying respirator which positively pressurizes the interior space of the system.

A disposable medical gown (100) includes a body covering portion (101) and optionally one or more sleeves (107,108). The body covering portion (101) defines a head insertion aperture (104) between a frontal body covering portion (103) configured to cover a frontal body portion of a wearer and a rear portion (203) configured to cover at least parts of shoulder blades of the wearer. A torso opening (201) is disposed on a side of the rear portion (203) opposite the head insertion aperture (104), and extends distally from the rear portion (203). One or more perforations (202) extend across the rear portion (203) at least partially between the torso opening (202) and the head insertion aperture (104), and facilitate easy removal of the gown (100). A user removes the gown (100) by pulling the front portion (103), thereby tearing the perforations. Elastic gatherings can be included to snug the gown about the torso or limbs of the user.
