Method for applying reinforcing seam tape
A method for applying a thermoreactive seam tape to a seam is provided. The thermoreactive seam tape may be positioned adjacent to the seam, which may include a first fabric surface and an adjacent second fabric surface. The thermoreactive seam tape may include an interior planar surface that engages both the first fabric surface and the second fabric surface of the seam. The thermoreactive seam tape may further include an exterior surface opposite the interior surface, where the exterior surface is substantially non-planar with respect to the interior planar surface along a length of the thermoreactive seam tape. Heat and pressure may be applied to the thermoreactive seam tape, wherein the heat and the pressure facilitate adhesion of the thermoreactive seam tape to the first fabric surface and the second fabric surface of the seam.
Tool for Fusing Outlet Fittings in a Plastic Pipe and Method of Using the Tool
A tool for use in fusing an outlet fitting in the side wall of a plastic pipe has a base with three perpendicular guide rods. A movable plate is reciprocated on the guide rods in response to manual operation of a rack-and-pinion. The movable plate has a hole oriented to align a drill adapter and an outlet fitting adapter which are interchangeably inserted into the hole on an axis extending through a predetermined point on the longitudinal axis of the pipe. A retractable ratchet strap tightly girts the pipe to secure the tool against the pipe. The ratchet strap assures that the tool always maintains its original orientation on the pipe and the hole assures that interchanged drill and outlet fitting adapters are always returned to their original orientation in the tool. Therefore, the outlet fitting is always fused in its proper orientation in the pipe.
Sealing process and machine
The invention relates to a system and process of the sealing of an area of an object intended to be covered, such as an opening slot, by a sealing strip which becomes adhesive in an excited state when subjected to ultrasound. This procedure comprises the steps of: supplying a sealing strip between an object and a sonotrode having a linear application area; supporting or pressing the linear application area of the sonotrode with the sealing strip to thereby adhere the sealing strip area, which is in contact with the linear application area of the sonotrode, to a corresponding area of the object; and displacing the object in relation to the sonotrode according to a profile of the sealing area, so as to apply the sealing strip to the sealing area of the object.
Systems and methods to reduce air pocket formation during welding
The present technology discloses a system, for joining workpieces using energy, such as ultrasonic energy, where the energy concentrates at a location within a weld area, promoting sequential melting of a plurality of energy directors. The system can be configured so that the sequential melting begins at the center of the weld area and progresses outwards. Sequential melting may occur through use of a welding tip configured to reduce air pockets, a tapering the height of a plurality of energy directors, and/or tapering the energy directors themselves, all of which reduce the size of an energy transfer area produced by thermal energy. The present technology also includes a method for joining workpieces using energy such as ultrasonic energy that concentrates at a location within a weld area causing sequential melting of a plurality of energy directors using the aforementioned features.
PACKAGE AND HEAT SEALING DEVICE
Aspects of the present invention are directed to a heat sealed packaging wherein the heat seal is along a curved surface. Additional aspects of the present invention are directed to a device for heat sealing a package on a surface that is curved along the direction of force.
MANUFACTURING APPARATUS OF DISPLAY DEVICE
A manufacturing apparatus of a display device includes a first jig configured to hold a first member; a second jig located under the first jig and coupled to or separated from the first jig such that the first member is locatable between the first jig and the second jig; fixing parts located at both ends of the second jig and configured to hold a second member between the first member and the second jig, the second jig including a pad; and a stage located under the pad and provided with a groove formed therethrough and having an area smaller than an area of the pad when viewed in a plan view, wherein one portion of the pad, which faces the stage, is configured to be within the groove.
COMPRESSION BELT FOR INFLATION AND SEALING DEVICES
The present disclosure is directed to a compression belt for inflation and sealing devices. The device may include an inflation assembly, a heating assembly, and a drive mechanism. The inflation assembly may direct fluid between first and second overlapping plies of a flexible web material to inflate chambers between the plies. The heating assembly may be operable to heat the first and second plies of the web material to create a longitudinal heat seal that seals the fluid in the inflated chambers. The drive mechanism may drive the web material in a downstream direction. The drive mechanism may tension the web material against the heating assembly. The drive mechanism may include a first belt including a high grip material on a surface that contacts the web material to grip the web material during heating by the heating assembly.
High-speed polymer-to-metal direct joining system and method
A method of directly joining a polymer to a metal along a joint interface through the formation of C—O-M chemical bonds, where M represents an element in the metal to be joined. The method includes heating the metal to a predetermined temperature above a glass transition temperature of the polymer and less than a flash ignition temperature of the polymer and less than a metal melting temperature of the metal; physically contacting at least one of the metal and the polymer; and applying compression pressure to the joint interface of the metal and the polymer when the metal is above the glass transition temperature of the polymer and less than the flash ignition temperature of the polymer and less than the metal melting temperature of the metal to generate intimate atomic contact between the metal and the polymer to create C—O-M chemical bonds between the metal and the polymer.
Air cushion inflation machine
A machine for converting two different types of webs of inflatable material to two different types of inflated cushioning material includes an inflation arrangement, a sealing arrangement, and a tensioning device. The inflation arrangement is configured to provide air at a lower pressure to a first web of a first type of inflatable material to inflate the first type of inflatable material, and to provide air at a higher pressure to a second type of inflatable material to inflate the second type of inflatable material. The inflation arrangement includes a guide pin configured to the first and second webs and align the first and second webs on the machine. The sealing arrangement is configured to seal the first type of inflatable material and the second type of inflatable material to create the two different types of inflated cushioning material. The tensioning device is configured to provide a lower tensioning force to the first web as the first web moves between the inflation arrangement and the sealing arrangement, and to provide a higher tensioning force to the second web as the second web moves between the inflation arrangement and the sealing arrangement.
REUSABLE CONTAINER SYSTEM AND METHOD THAT REDUCES THE USE OF PLASTIC
