A droplet deposition apparatus comprising a droplet deposition head, a fluid supply and a controller, wherein: the droplet deposition head comprises one or more fluid chambers each having a nozzle, a fluid inlet path having a fluid inlet into the head, and ending in the one or more nozzles, and a fluid return path starting at the one or more nozzles and ending in a fluid return of the head; each fluid chamber comprises two opposing chamber walls comprising piezoelectric material and deformable upon application of an electric drive signal so as to eject a fluid droplet from the nozzle; the fluid supply is configured to supply a fluid to the fluid inlet at a differential pressure as measured between the fluid inlet and the fluid return; and the controller is configured to apply a drive signal to the piezoelectric chamber walls such that the nozzle or nozzles deposit droplets of a fluid having a viscosity in the range from 45 mPa.Math.s to 130 mPa.Math.s at a jetting temperature between 20° C. and 90° C., and wherein the differential pressure applied by the fluid supply causes a fluid return flow into the fluid return at a rate of between 50 ml/min and 200 ml/min. A method of operating the droplet deposition apparatus, and a control system for carrying out the method, are also provided.
LIQUID EJECTION HEAD
A liquid ejection head including a base substrate, an ejection port to eject a liquid, a heating element formed above the base substrate that heats the liquid to eject the liquid from the ejection port, a temperature detection element formed above the base substrate that detects a temperature of the liquid, a wiring layer connected to the heating element, a protective layer formed on the base substrate that protects the heating element and the wiring layer from the liquid, and a liquid supply port that penetrates the base substrate and supplies the liquid to the ejection port. When viewed in a direction perpendicular to the base substrate, the temperature detection element is disposed between the heating element and the liquid supply port, and the temperature detection element is formed on the protective layer.
Element substrate, liquid discharge head, and printing apparatus
In a head substrate according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a plurality of nozzles for discharging liquid; a plurality of electrothermal transducers corresponding to the plurality of nozzles; and a plurality of drivers corresponding to the plurality of electrothermal transducers, the substrate has the following configuration. Specifically, it comprises a detection circuit that detects, in a case where one of the plurality of electrothermal transducers is selected, a temperature of the selected transducer to which a first signal is applied to in order to discharge a liquid from a nozzle corresponding to the selected electrothermal transducer, and then a second signal is applied to heat the selected electrothermal transducer.
INK-JET HEAD
Provided is an ink-jet head including: a back end portion; a front end portion which ejects the ink; a heating plate which is arranged between the back end portion and the front end portion, and which heats the back end portion and the front end portion; and a temperature detection device which is provided on the heating plate, and which outputs a value in accordance with a temperature of the front end portion, the temperature detection device being held in direct contact with the front end portion.
COMMUNICATING PRINT COMPONENT
An integrated circuit for a print component including a number of memory bits. The integrated circuit may include a selection circuit to select at least one memory bit of the number of memory bits and fire actuators of a fire pulse group. The integrated circuit may include a memory voltage regulator to provide a write voltage to the at least one memory bit of the number of memory bits.
Temperature detection and control
A print component integrated circuitry package includes a number of temperature sensors where each of the plurality of the temperature sensors is disposed in a corresponding temperature region of an integrated circuitry. In an example, an analog sense bus conductively connects to all of the plurality of temperature sensors and an external sensor pad that is to connect to a corresponding print controller contact.
Liquid discharging head
A printing apparatus comprising a printing element substrate, including a substrate including a heating element for heating and discharging liquid and a temperature detecting element for detecting a temperature of the substrate, wherein a detection period, during which a detecting result is obtainable, extends across a plurality of cycles of a latch signal, and a heating enabling signal for discharging the liquid and the latch signal are output such that, in the detection period, an output value of a temperature waveform does not exceed a preset threshold value, the temperature waveform being a temperature waveform of the substrate detected by the temperature detecting element.
