A glove apparatus is disclosed comprising a substantially glove-shaped first layer, a substantially glove-shaped second layer, and an attachment tab comprising a lower portion, an upper portion, and an extension portion. The attachment tab is attached to a finger portion of the second layer along the lower portion and along the upper portion. The extension portion extends from the attachment tab at a location distal from a fingertip of the second layer and overlies the upper portion to an attachment region on the first layer proximate a fingertip of the first layer, the fingertips of the first layer and of the second layer thereby lying substantially near or in contact with one another.

Highly functional polyethylene fibers, woven or knit fabric, and cut-resistant glove

A polyethylene fiber characterized by having an intrinsic viscosity [] of 0.8 dL/g or more and less than 5 dL/g; being composed of a repeating unit substantially derived from ethylene; having pores formed inside of the fiber; having an average diameter of the pores of ranging from 3 nm to 1 m when the diameter is measured, by each pore being approximated by a column, at a contact angle of 140 degrees, in a mercury intrusion method; a porosity of the pores of ranging from 1.5% to 20%; and having a tensile strength greater than or equal to 8 cN/dtex.

Method of manufacturing multifilament yarns of filled high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers

Methods of manufacturing multifilament yarns of filled high-performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers that are formed of HPPE filled with a hard component having a Mohs hardness of at least 2.5 are provided. The methods include applying a solvent solution or an aqueous suspension of a polymeric resin to the filled HPPE fibers and thereafter at least partially drying the solvent solution or aqueous suspension to obtain the yarn. The polymeric resin is a homopolymer of ethylene or propylene or is a copolymer of ethylene and/or propylene, and has a density as measured according to ISO1183-2004 in the range from 860 to 970 kg/m.sup.3, a melting temperature in the range from 40 to 140 C. and a heat of fusion of at least 5 J/g.

A work glove has one or more polymer pads attached to a liner. The pads have various patterns and heights in order to provide optimal protection. The liner has four fingers, a thumb, a palm portion, and a sleeve. Each pad has a pliable, central portion and a backing portion. The backing portion includes a peripheral sewing channel having an inboard sewing portion and an outboard peripheral rim. Each pad is attached to the liner through a sewing thread that passes through the peripheral sewing channel and liner. The central portion is made of a lower shore PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material, while the backing portion is made of a higher shore PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material that provides for a stiffer, stronger and more tear resistant material than the central portion.

Damage-resistant gloves with breach-indicator function

Described herein is a multi-layered latex cover, particularly a glove, comprising a main body and a rim. The main body comprises an outer latex layer, an inner latex layer and an intermediate layer comprising particles. The rim essentially consists of the agglutinated outer and inner latex layer. The particles in the intermediate layer are chemically functionalized with a compound comprising hydrophobic groups. Prior to functionalization, the particles are characterized by a mean diameter of 100 m and a surface comprising exposed OH groups. The invention further relates to a method of producing the multi-layered cover, comprising the steps of providing a former and sequentially immersing it in a first coagulator solution, a first latex dispersion, a particle suspension and a second latex dispersion.

Provided is a cut resistant glove including a pile knitted fabric. The pile knitted fabric includes a plurality of yarns that contain a ground yarn having cut resistance properties and a pile yarn, and are pile-knitted at a gauge of 6 or more and less than 10. The pile yarn is pulled out longer than the ground yarn from a back stitch of the pile knitted fabric to form a plurality of loops.

Brace to improve hand positioning for short golf game

A hand brace to improving a golfer's short game is disclosed. The brace comprises a shell, a first guard and a second guard. The shell is flexible and configured to cover at least a back portion of the golfer's dominant hand, top of the wrist and lower forearm. The first guard is physically associated with the shell extending along the back of the golfer's dominant hand from and between proximately the second knuckles of the index and ring fingers, over the top of the dominant wrist and lower forearm. The first guard substantially restricts maximum extension of the golfer's dominant wrist to less than approximately 20 degrees. The second guard is physically associated with the shell extending along the back of the golfer's thumb from the nailbed to the first knuckle to substantially restrict radial deviation of the golfer's dominant wrist to less than approximately 10 degrees.
