Liquid ejecting apparatus and maintenance method for liquid ejecting apparatus
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a liquid ejecting portion configured to eject a first liquid from a nozzle; a liquid receiving portion configured to receive the first liquid discharged from the nozzle for a purpose of maintenance of the liquid ejecting portion in a state that a second liquid is stored therein; and a discharge portion configured to discharge a liquid stored in the liquid receiving portion. The liquid receiving portion includes: a liquid storing portion that stores the second liquid; a maintenance portion that maintains a liquid surface of the liquid stored in the liquid storing portion at an upper limit position above a discharge port at which the discharge portion discharges the liquid from the liquid storing portion; and a lip portion configured to contact the liquid ejecting portion. The liquid receiving portion is configured to cap a space in which the nozzle opens with the lip portion.
Wiping device
A wiping device is equipped with a wiping blade that wipes an ink ejection surface of a nozzle row of an ink jet head, a cleansing tank that stores a cleansing solution and in which the wiping blade is immersed, and a shower unit that sprays the cleansing solution onto the wiping blade.
Liquid ejecting apparatus and maintenance method for liquid ejecting apparatus
A liquid ejecting apparatus including: a liquid ejecting portion configured to eject a liquid from a nozzle disposed in a nozzle surface; a wiping mechanism configured to perform a wiping operation of wiping the nozzle surface by moving a strip-shaped member configured to absorb the liquid relative to the nozzle surface in a state in which the strip-shaped member is in contact with the nozzle surface; and a control portion configured to perform a pre-wiping operation of moving the strip-shaped member relative to the nozzle surface at a speed higher than a speed for the relative movement during the wiping operation in a state in which the strip-shaped member is not in contact with the nozzle surface and is configured to be brought into contact with the liquid adhering to the nozzle surface, prior to the wiping operation of wiping the nozzle surface with the strip-shaped member.
LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE
A recording unit configured to ejecting liquid onto a medium in a ejecting direction from a nozzle provided at a nozzle surface to perform recording, a cleaning unit including a first pressing unit and a second pressing unit for cleaning the nozzle surface, and a temperature detection unit configured to detect temperature are included, the nozzle surface includes a first surface in which the nozzle opens and a second surface, and the cleaning unit is configured to perform the cleaning with a distance in the ejecting direction from the first surface set to the first pressing unit or the second pressing unit to a first distance when a detected temperature detected by the temperature detection unit is equal to or greater than a predetermined temperature, and to a second distance shorter than the first distance when the detected temperature is lower than the predetermined temperature.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS AND WASTE-LIQUID COLLECTING METHOD OF LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a head that ejects a liquid; a curing portion that cures the liquid by emitting energy to the liquid; and a waste-liquid collecting portion that collects the liquid as waste liquid, in which the waste-liquid collecting portion includes an absorber that absorbs the liquid from the head, a first rotational shaft that holds an unused portion of the absorber, and a second rotational shaft that holds a used portion of the absorber, and the curing portion emits the energy to the liquid absorbed by the absorber.
Print head servicing
A method comprising: soaking a portion of a web in a printing device with printing liquid from a first print head (110) of the printing device; and wiping at least one nozzle of a second print head (120) in the printing device with the soaked portion of the web. The method provides a servicing method for print heads in the printing device.
EVALUATING SURFACES
In an example, a surface inspection apparatus includes a light source to illuminate a portion of a surface in a print apparatus, a light detection apparatus and processing circuitry. The light detection apparatus may receive diffusely reflected light and specularly reflected light from the portion of the surface, and may comprise a detection element for detecting the specularly reflected light. The processing circuitry may comprise a comparison module to determine a relationship between an intensity of the detected diffusely reflected light and the detected specularly reflected light and a quality module to evaluate if the surface meets a quality criterion based on the relationship.
CLEANING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, WINDING CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM
A cleaning device includes: a cleaning member that comes into contact with a nozzle surface of a head unit that forms an image on a recording medium by an inkjet head, the cleaning member cleaning an ink remaining on the nozzle surface; a winding part that winds the cleaning member so that an unused part of the cleaning member comes in contact with the nozzle surface; and a hardware processor that controls the winding part to change a winding amount of the cleaning member according to an amount of ink to be cleaned by the cleaning member.
MAINTENANCE SYSTEM USING SURFACE TENSION GRADIENT
A printhead maintenance system includes: an elongate inkjet printhead having a nozzle face containing a plurality of inkjet nozzles; a carriage movable longitudinally along the printhead in a cleaning direction, the carriage having a maintenance member including: a primary fluid inlet at an upstream end of the maintenance member relative to the cleaning direction and a fluid outlet downstream of the fluid inlet relative to the cleaning direction; a cleaning fluid reservoir for supplying a cleaning fluid to the primary fluid inlet; and a traversing mechanism for traversing the carriage longitudinally along the printhead in the cleaning direction. The maintenance member does not contact inkjet nozzles of the printhead; and the cleaning fluid has a higher surface tension than the ink.
PRINTHEAD MAINTENANCE SYSTEM
A printhead maintenance system includes: an elongate inkjet printhead having a nozzle face containing a plurality of inkjet nozzles; a carriage movable longitudinally along the printhead in a cleaning direction, the carriage including a maintenance member having: a fluid bath having a mouth opposing the nozzle face of the printhead, a primary fluid inlet at an upstream end of the fluid bath relative to the cleaning direction and a fluid outlet at a downstream end of the fluid bath relative to the cleaning direction; and a traversing mechanism for traversing the carriage longitudinally along the printhead in the cleaning direction. The maintenance member does not contact inkjet nozzles of the printhead, and the fluid bath is configured to provide a greater fluid velocity at the downstream end relative to the upstream end.
