LIQUID EJECTION DEVICE AND CLEANING METHOD
When a liquid ejection head and a first wiping unit are moved relatively to clean a surface, the first wiping unit making a first wiping member travel in a first direction, a direction opposite to the first direction is used as a moving direction of the head with reference to the first wiping member in relative moving therebetween. When the head and a second wiping unit are moved relatively to each other to clean the surface, the second wiping unit making a second wiping member travel in a second direction having a component of a direction opposite to the first direction, a direction opposite to the second direction is used as a moving direction of the head with reference to the second wiping member in relative moving therebetween to move the second wiping unit and the head relatively to clean the same area on the surface.
INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
An inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head including a plurality of nozzles for ejecting ink, a conveyor belt that has a plurality of apertures and conveys recording media one by one, a control unit, an ink receiver, and a pipe-shaped ink discharge flow path. The control unit controls drive of the recording head and the conveyor belt to perform flushing, in which the ink is ejected from the nozzle of the recording head to pass through one of the apertures, at a timing different from a timing contributing to image recording. The ink receiver is disposed to face the recording head sandwiching the conveyor belt therebetween, to receive the ink after passing through the aperture when the flushing is performed. The ink discharge flow path is connected to the ink receiver. When the flushing is performed, a predetermined amount of liquid is stored in the ink receiver.
Liquid ejecting head unit, liquid ejecting apparatus, wiping method, and printing method
A liquid ejecting head unit which includes a liquid ejecting head which includes a nozzle surface provided with nozzles, the nozzle surface being on a plane defined by two directions including a first and a second directions intersecting each other, a wiping unit comprising a wiper parallel to the first direction and configured to perform relative movement in the second direction between the wiper and the nozzle surface to wipe the nozzle surface, a recess defined by an edge provided along the first direction on the nozzle surface, and a controller for filling the recess with a liquid which spills from at least one nozzle among the nozzles, and for wiping the nozzle surface after wiping the recess.
Liquid jetting device, liquid jetting head cleaning device, and liquid jetting head cleaning method
Provided are a liquid jetting device, a liquid jetting head cleaning device, and a liquid jetting head cleaning method, in which a nozzle surface is cleaned without a liquid infiltrating into a gap of a liquid jetting head having a gap between head modules adjacent to each other. After performing pressurization purging for pressurizing an inside of a liquid jetting head (32) that is the liquid jetting head (32), which jets a liquid from a nozzle (202) disposed on a nozzle surface (33), is formed by a plurality of head modules (200), and has a gap (G) between the head modules adjacent to each other, to discharge the liquid from the nozzle (202), a long wiping web (104) in a dry state abuts against the nozzle surface (33) of the liquid jetting head (32) at a pressing force of 0 kPa or more and 15 kPa or less, and the wiping web (104) is transported with respect to the liquid jetting head (32) in a web transporting direction to wipe the nozzle surface (33).
CLEANING SOLUTION, SET OF INK AND CLEANING SOLUTION, CLEANING METHOD, CLEANING APPARATUS, PRINTING METHOD, AND PRINTING APPARATUS
Provided is cleaning solution used for cleaning ink containing water and resin, cleaning solution containing water and solvent. Solvent contains glycol ether compound represented by general formula 1. Ink film obtained by drying the ink has swelling ratio of 20 percent or higher but 150 percent or lower, where swelling ratio is calculated by mathematical formula 1 based on masses of ink film before/after immersed in cleaning solution at 25 degrees C. for 24 hours,
R.sup.1(OR.sup.2).sub.XOR.sup.3 General formula 1
In general formula 1, R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 represent hydrogen atom or alkyl group including from 1 through 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 represents alkyl group including from 2 through 3 carbon atoms, and X represents integer of from 1 through 4,
Swelling ratio (%)=100×[(B−A)/A] Mathematical formula 1
In mathematical formula 1, A represents mass of ink film before immersed, and B represents mass of ink film after immersed.
LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting unit having nozzles able to eject a liquid to a medium, a wiping unit able to wipe the liquid ejecting unit, a waste liquid receiving unit which receives a waste liquid which is discharged by a maintenance operation for maintaining the liquid ejecting unit, at a position facing the liquid ejecting unit, and a collection unit which comes in contact with the waste liquid receiving unit to collect the waste liquid which is received by the waste receiving unit, in which the wiping unit comes in contact with the collection unit to wipe the waste liquid which is collected by the collection unit.
CONTROLLER AND METHOD FOR INTERRUPTING THE PRINTING OPERATION OF A PRINTING DEVICE
A controller may transition an inkjet printing device, starting from the printing operation, at least predominantly into a continuation mode where the printing is interrupted in which, however, the active tempering of the ink in the one or more print heads of the printing device is continued in order to enable an accelerated restart of the printing operation.
Ink jet recording apparatus
An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a wiper member, a cleaning liquid supply device, and a controller. The recording head includes an ink ejection surface having an ink ejection port from which ink is ejected. The cleaning liquid supply device includes a cleaning liquid supply surface having a cleaning liquid supply port from which cleaning liquid for wiping the ink ejection surface with the wiper member is supplied, and is located upstream of the ink ejection surface in a wiping direction. The controller controls a cleaning operation including squeezing out the cleaning liquid containing bubbles from the cleaning liquid supply port, and moving the wiper member carrying the cleaning liquid containing bubbles, in the wiping direction from a movement start position to an end position ahead of the ink ejection surface.
