AIRBAG AND METHOD OF PRODUCING WEAVING PATTERN FOR THE SAME
An airbag includes a bag portion and a plain cloth portion. The bag portion is woven by double weave. The plain cloth portion is woven by plain weave at an edge of the bag portion. The bag portion and the plain cloth portion include warp threads and filling threads. The bag portion and the plain cloth portion are woven by a one piece woven method to satisfy: (1) each warp thread is not over four consecutive filling threads and each filling thread is not over four consecutive warp threads around a border between the bag portion and the plain cloth portion; and (2) every two adjacent warp threads are not over two adjacent filling threads and every two adjacent filling threads are not over two adjacent warp threads around the border.
VEHICLE AIRBAG
An airbag assembly includes an airbag and a tether. The tether includes a first end portion extending from the airbag, a second end portion spaced from the airbag, and an intermediate portion having a first strap and a second strap extending between and meeting each other at the first end portion and the second end portion. The first end portion, the second end portion, and the intermediate portion are monolithic.
Curtain airbag device
A cover member (18) is formed of a pliable fabric material having a plurality of polymer fibers, and is configured to maintain the shape of the airbag by mutual fusion of at least part of the polymer fibers. The cover member (18) is configured to have a high stiffness portion (25) of higher stiffness than other portions of the cover member, as a result of partial overlaying of the pliable fabric material in more folds than at other portions.
Airbag and airbag module, method for producing an airbag woven as a single piece, and method for producing an airbag module
The invention describes an airbag (10), in particular a head side airbag (10) or a head-thorax side airbag, including at least two opposite fabric layers (12, 14) which form at least one inner wall (13) and one outer wall (15) of the airbag (10), wherein the airbag (10) is manufactured in one piece by a multi-layer weaving process in which the fabric layers (12, 14) are interwoven at least in a peripheral region (16), with a gas generator mount (18) for an external gas generator (20) being disposed in either of the two fabric layers (12, 14). The invention further describes an airbag module (8) comprising an airbag (10) according to the invention as well as a method for manufacturing a one-piece-woven airbag (10) and a method for manufacturing an airbag module (8).
Air bag device
An airbag apparatus which is capable of restraining an occupant in a stable position even during an oblique collision, and which is capable of suppressing an injury value of the occupant. An airbag apparatus 100 restrains an occupant 132 of a vehicle. The airbag apparatus 100 is provided with: a main bag 112 which is bag-shaped and inflates and deploys in front of a front passenger seat 104 of the vehicle; and a center bag 114 which is bag-shaped and inflates and deploys on an inner side of the main bag 112 in a vehicle width direction. The center bag 114 has a rear region 160 which extends further towards a rear of the vehicle than the main bag 112, and a curved surface 164, which projects towards a main bag 112 side in the vehicle width direction, is formed on the rear region 160.
Airbag apparatus
An airbag apparatus capable of protecting an occupant by restraining movement of the occupant in an obliquely forward direction and towards a far side during a collision. A far side airbag apparatus (102), which is an airbag apparatus, deploys between a driver seat (106) and a front passenger seat (108) arranged side by side in a vehicle width direction of a vehicle cabin (100). The apparatus (102) includes a cushion (120) which is embedded in a floor of the vehicle cabin (100) and reaches a height at least equal to that of a pelvis region (160) of an occupant (156) seated in either one of the driver seat (106) and the front passenger seat (108) during inflation and deployment.
AIRBAG
An airbag includes a bag and a tether. The bag includes a first woven fabric layer and a second woven fabric layer that are opposite each other and form a double woven fabric member produced with a one-piece weaving procedure. The tether includes a first tether thread and a first anchor thread. The first tether thread is one of the warp threads and the weft threads included in the first and second woven fabric layers and runs out from the second woven fabric layer and runs back again into the second woven fabric layer. The first anchor thread is another one of the warp threads and the weft threads included in the first and second woven fabric layers and the first tether thread is hooked on the first anchor thread so as to be pulled from two directions symmetrically by the first tether thread when the bag inflates.
Passenger protecting device
A passenger protecting device including: an airbag device including an airbag that receives a supply of gas from an inflator and is inflated and expanded, by a front expanding portion that includes a front inflating portion to be inflated and expanded at a seat front side of the head portion and at least one of a chest portion and shoulder portions of the passenger, and a pair of left and right lateral expanding portions that include lateral inflating portions that are connected to the front expanding portion and are inflated and expanded at sides of the head portion of the passenger; and a position changing device that changes an inflated and expanded position of the airbag in a seat transverse direction, in accordance with a direction of collision of a collision body with respect to the vehicle seat.
One-piece woven vehicle occupant protection device
A method for manufacturing a one-piece woven air bag includes weaving yarns into a one-piece woven fabric air bag structure having single layer portions and two layer portions in which an inflatable volume is defined between the two layer portions and in which the single layer portions are non-inflatable portions that help define the shape and configuration of the inflatable volume. The step of weaving yarns is performed using a water-jet loom.
CURTAIN AIRBAG OF VEHICLE
A curtain airbag of a vehicle is provided adjacent to the roof of the vehicle in a folded state, is configured to have a shape that unfolds downward between an inner side surface of the vehicle and an occupant when the vehicle crashes, and includes an outer panel that proceeds toward the side surface of the vehicle and an inner panel that proceeds toward the occupant upon expansion. The curtain airbag further includes a head support part configured to have a shape in which an expansion thickness, which is defined by the outer panel and the inner panel in a portion that the head of the occupant contacts due to the car crash, gradually increases toward the front of the vehicle, so as to prevent the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle. The curtain airbag may effectively stop the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle during a vehicle crash.
