Wiper system for a vehicle that disengages in the event of torque exceeding a threshold
The invention relates to a drive mechanism and a wiper system for a vehicle. The mechanism comprises a coupling member (22), a drive head (10) having means (20) for connecting to a wiper blade arm (48) and a slide (32) arranged so as to rotatably engage the member with the head when a value of a torque applied to the head relative to the member is less than a predetermined threshold, and, when this is not the case, to rotatably disengage the member and the head by sliding in a direction perpendicular to a rotational axis of the member.
DRIVE DEVICE FOR A WINDSCREEN WIPING DEVICE
The invention relates to a drive device for a windscreen wiping device (1), comprising an electric drive motor (3) and a transmission (4) for driving an output shaft (5), said output shaft supporting the first wiper arm (6) and drives a transmission rod assembly (8) which actuates a second wiper arm (13). The invention relates to, in particular, the connection of the drive shaft to the transmission rod assembly.
Wiper arm with integral alignment key
A wiper arm for supporting a wiper blade includes a wiper arm head comprises a recessed splined cup portion having a plurality of angularly adjacent teeth about the internal circumference of the cup portion wherein the cup portion includes a slot. A complementary drive shaft includes a splined head having teeth for mating engagement with the teeth in the wiper arm head. In order to facilitate the alignment therebetween, an integral alignment key is received in the axially aligned slots. The alignment key further includes a lower notched end which abuts against a bottom radial lip of the splined head to prevent the key from moving axially in the slots. As such, the key and the splined head include complementary formations preventing the key from accidentally falling out of the slots.
WIPER ARM CONNECTION
The invention relates to an arrangement (10) which has a wiper arm (12) provided with a wiper blade (14) for securing to an output shaft (20) of a wiper system (22), said output shaft being mounted on a paired vehicle body (16) in a pivotal manner about a central longitudinal axis (26) via at least one bearing element (24). A connection portion (30) of the wiper arm (12) can be secured to the output shaft (20) so as to be secured against rotation and in an axially movable manner in the direction of the central longitudinal axis (26) and can be spring-loaded in the direction of the vehicle body (16) by means of at least one spring element (48) which can be arranged in the region of the output shaft (20) in order to allow at least one height tolerance compensation of the wiper blade (14) of the wiper arm (12) secured to the output shaft (20) during operation.
Windscreen wiper arm
A windscreen wiper arm, particularly for automobiles, includes a mounting head mountable on a drive shaft and an arm member pivotally connected to the mounting head by means of a pivot pin. The arm member has a substantially U-shaped cross-section near the pivot pin comprising two side walls. A part of the mounting head extends between the side walls and beyond the pivot pin. The part is provided with opposite surfaces each facing towards a respective side wall of the arm member. Each surface of the part of the mounting head is positioned spaced-apart from its respective side wall of the arm member, so as to allow paint to enter a space defined between each surface of the part of the mounting head and its respective side wall of the arm member.
