A dual blade windshield wiper including; a blade anchor; a first blade extension extending from the blade anchor on a first side; a second blade extension extending from the blade anchor on a second side; a first blade at the distal end of the first blade extension, where the first blade is comprised of a first substance; and a second blade at the distal end of the second blade extension, where the second blade is comprised of a second substance. In one particular embodiment, the first substance is a scrubbing material and the second substance is a plurality of bristles. The blade anchor preferably includes an inner cavity and a sponge lies within the inner cavity, where a clip secures the sponge within the inner cavity.

A windshield cleaning system includes a vehicle that has a windshield and a pair of windshield wipers. A cleaning device for a surface, such as a windshield of a vehicle, includes an active positioning system and a cleaning head. The active positioning system is configured to deploy from a storage position hidden from view within a covered storage space and to position the cleaning head upon the windshield. The active positioning system includes a first extension member and a second extension member that move relative to one another to position the cleaning head, and also move the cleaning head across the windshield along a path. The cleaning head can have a brush portion configured to agitate debris from the window, and a drying portion configured to dry the window after cleaning. The cleaning device can be controlled via a touch-screen display in the vehicle, enabling a user to direct that specific portions of the windshield be cleaned as desired.

A windshield wiper is disclosed herein. The windshield wiper includes a first longitudinal flexible blade member, a second longitudinal flexible blade member and a longitudinal scrubbing member sandwiched between the first longitudinal flexible blade member and the second longitudinal flexible blade member. In some versions, the longitudinal scrubbing member includes a textured outer surface. The windshield wiper is able to squeegee loose debris, such as rain and snow, as well as stuck-on debris, such as stuck on insects and dirt.
