Novel adapters, connectors and wiper blade assemblies including same for securing windshield wiper blades and arms are described, including those that accommodate side-saddle wiper arms. A wiper blade adapter may have a mounting portion comprising a wiper blade securing element, the wiper securing element being capable of securing a wiper blade, and a side-saddle portion comprising a connector securing element, the connector securing element being capable of securing a connector that is capable of securing a wiper arm.

Windshield wiper connector
Novel connectors for coupling wiper blades with arms are described, including those that. A wiper blade connector may include first and second side walls and a bridge defining an upper channel, as well as a passage for receiving a rivet or pin. The connector may also include a reinforcement portion which may be an extension of the side walls, include a portion overhanging into the upper channel, an outward extension projecting in a direction away from the upper channel, or resilient tabs on the inside of the channel. The connector may also include a support element, such as a truss member, which extends the upper channel. A lateral brace may also be provided between side walls.

The invention is based on a wiper blade device having an adapter element (14) that can be fixedly connected to a main component (10) of a wiper blade (11; 12; 13), said adapter element (14) comprising at least two side walls (16, 18) facing one another, which at least partially delimit a receiving region (20) for at least one part of at least one holding element (21; 22; 23) for a wiper arm (24; 26; 28). The invention states that at least one of the side walls (16, 18) has at least one recess (34, 36), formed as a bearing opening (30, 32), for a bearing element (38; 40).
