[Problem] To provide a passenger restraint apparatus capable of suppressing the movement of an airbag away from a passenger without requiring a complex structure. [Resolution Means] A passenger restraint apparatus according to the present invention is configured to include a seat of a vehicle and restrain a passenger seated in this seat, wherein this passenger restraint apparatus includes: an airbag which is stored in a seat back part of the seat, and expanded and deployed to the side of the passenger seated in this seat; and a tension fabric which passes through the side opposite the passenger of the stored airbag so as to be stored from the seat back part of the seat to the seat cushion part, wherein, when the airbag is expanded and deployed, at least a portion of the tension fabric is configured so as to be deployed to the outside of this seat by the cleaving of the skin of the seat, in addition to being stretched from the position in the vicinity of the shoulder of the passenger in the seat back to the position on the front side of the vehicle on the side of the seat cushion, and wherein this tension fabric includes a part for holding the surface of the airbag opposite the passenger.

AIRBAG WITH BREAKABLE BAND

A restraint system includes a housing, an airbag, and a band. The airbag is inflatable from an uninflated position in the housing to a fully inflated position extending from the housing, and the airbag has a rear panel spaced from the housing when the airbag is in the fully inflated position. The band is elongated from a first end to a second end, and the first and second ends are attached to the housing. When the airbag is in a partially inflated position, the band extends across the rear panel and is stretched to a maximum length.

TETHER ANCHOR ASSEMBLY FOR CURTAIN AIRBAG
20240010158 · 2024-01-11 ·

An anchor assembly for connecting a curtain airbag to a side structure of a vehicle includes an elongated track configured to be connected to the side structure of the vehicle behind a vehicle trim piece that covers the side structure and forms a surface visible from within a passenger compartment of the vehicle. An anchor is configured to move along the track. The track includes sidewalls that define an interior channel that extends along the length of the track, and a slot that extends along the length of the track. The anchor includes a shank and a roller that is connected to the shank and rotatable relative to the shank. The roller and a portion of the shank to which the roller is connected are positioned in the channel and are movable along the channel when the anchor moves along the track. A portion of the shank extends through the slot, is positioned on an exterior of the track, and is configured to be connected to the curtain airbag. The track is configured so that the slot is at least partially exposed to a gap between trim piece and the side structure so that the portion of the shank that extends through the slot is not inhibited by the trim piece from moving along the slot when the anchor moves along the track in response to curtain airbag deployment.

A vehicle occupant restraint system comprises an airbag module (12) including an inflator (18) and a frontally acting airbag (16), wherein the airbag (16) includes an inflator-side inflation end (46) as well as a first free end (56) located in the inflated state of the airbag (16) within a vehicle interior. In a first period during deployment of the airbag (16), the first free end (56) is still connected via a tether (74) to the airbag module (12), wherein the tether (74) becomes detached upon reaching a predetermined tensile force. When folding the airbag (16), the non-inflated airbag (16) is spread so that a second free end (58) is maximally distant from the inflation end (46) and a first outer wall portion is stretched in the longitudinal direction of the airbag (16), and the first free end (56) is located in the vicinity of the inflation end (46) and a second outer wall portion is stretched in the longitudinal direction of the airbag (16), wherein a third outer wall portion of the airbag (16) is folded back onto itself at least in a portion. The two lateral areas of the spread airbag (16) are folded toward the center, and subsequently the airbag (16) is rolled up from the second free end (58).

Roof airbag apparatus

A roof airbag apparatus may include: a cushion having an inlet through which gas discharged from an inflator is introduced; a plurality of tethers connected to the cushion, and arranged along the edge of the cushion so as to be separated from each other; a plurality of steel tabs each having a connection hole formed therein; and a tether guide installed in a pillar shape through the connection holes, and supporting the cushion. The tethers may be connected to the cushion through the respective connection holes.
