The holding device (12) includes a pyrotechnical actuator assembly (24) for holding and, in terms of signals, specifically releasing the tensioning means (14), wherein the actuator assembly (24) comprises a plastic base (26) in which a pyrotechnical unit (28) including a propelling charge and an igniter (30) is accommodated and held, wherein the pyrotechnical unit (28) has a rear side (36) and an opposite front side (38), and a tensioning means holder (40) which is adjacent to the front side (38) of the pyrotechnical unit (28) and covers the same and which is detachably supported on the plastic base (26). The holding device (12) additionally includes a reinforcing element (58) which is supported to be axially movable between a first position and a second position, wherein the reinforcing element (58) in a second position is disengaged from the tensioning means holder (40) and in a first position is at least partially accommodated in the tensioning means holder (40) and mechanically reinforces the same. Furthermore, an airbag module (10) is described.
RESTRAINING DEVICE AND AIRBAG MODULE
The invention describes a holding device (12) for holding and releasing a tensioning means (14) of a vehicle safety system, e.g., an airbag tether. The holding device (12) includes a pyrotechnical actuator assembly (24) for holding and, in terms of signals, specifically releasing the tensioning means (14), wherein the actuator assembly (24) comprises a plastic base (26) in which a pyrotechnical unit (28) including a propelling charge and an igniter (30) is accommodated, wherein the pyrotechnical unit (28) has a rear side (36) and a front side (38). The holding device (12) has a tensioning means holder (40) which is directly adjacent at least to the front side (38) of the pyrotechnical unit (28), covers the same and is detachably supported on the plastic base (26) so that the tensioning means holder (40) detaches as a unit completely from the plastic base (26). The plastic material forming the plastic base (26) is injection-molded around the tensioning means holder (40) in the area of its longitudinal end associated with the pyrotechnical unit (28), and an area which is not injection-molded constitutes a holding portion (48) for the tensioning means (14). In addition, an airbag module (10) comprising a holding device (12) is described.
AIRBAG INTEGRATED DISPLAY AND CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME
Disclosed are airbag integrated moving display and a control method where the airbag-integrated display includes a display movable to a forward or rearward position according to a driving mode of a vehicle, and an airbag mounted to the rear of the display and being configured to move along with a movement of the display, vary a level of inflation of the airbag based on at least one of a position of the display or a distance from a driver of the vehicle.
AIRBAG TETHER RELEASE
An airbag system includes an airbag. The airbag system includes a base defining a track extending from a first end to a second end. The airbag system includes a carrier releasably fixed to the base and removable from the base at the second end. The airbag system includes a tether extending from the carrier and secured to the airbag. The airbag system includes a spring disposed at the first end. The spring is disposed between the carrier and the base. Upon application of a force to the carrier, e.g., via the tether when the airbag is inflated, the carrier is released from the base and compresses the spring. Upon removal of the force, the spring urges the carrier toward the second end where the carrier is ejected.
Airbag arrangement
The invention relates to an airbag arrangement for a motor vehicle, withan airbag (1), the airbag (1) having a first cushion layer (1.1) and a second cushion layer (1.2) opposite to the first cushion layer (1.1), andat least one tether arrangement (2), the tether arrangement being connected to the airbag (1) and being connectable with one end to the motor vehicle outside the airbag (1).
OBLIQUE IMPACT AIRBAG MITTS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Airbag cushions and airbag cushion assemblies comprising mitts or bends for mitigating injuries during oblique impacts. In some embodiments, the cushions may be configured to deploy so as to extend adjacent to an occupant in a vehicle laterally of the occupant and form a mitt configured to receive the occupant's head and/or thorax during an oblique impact event. The airbag cushion may comprise a first portion configured to, upon deployment, extend laterally of the occupant towards a front portion of the vehicle and a second portion configured to, upon deployment, extend at an angle relative to the first portion so as to form the mitt.
VEHICLE SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A vehicle side airbag device including: a side airbag that is accommodated in a folded-up state within a side portion, which is at a vehicle transverse direction outer side at a seatback of a vehicle seat, and, at a time of a side collision, the side airbag inflating and expanding between an upper body of a vehicle occupant and a vehicle side portion, and a vehicle transverse direction inner side surface of the side airbag, which faces the vehicle occupant, sinking in toward a vehicle transverse direction outer side; and a cloth body that is disposed at a vehicle occupant side with respect to the inflated and expanded side airbag, and that spans between front and rear both end portions of the side airbag and is stretched between the front and rear both end portions, a gap being formed between the side airbag and the cloth body.
HEAD-PROTECTING AIRBAG DEVICE
A head-protecting airbag device includes an airbag including a bag body and a cover sheet, the bag body including a gas inflow portion. The gas inflow portion includes a gas supply passage portion and a shielding inflatable portion, the gas supply passage portion being located in an upper edge side of the bag body and configured such that an inflation gas initially flows through the gas supply passage portion, and the shielding inflatable portion being disposed below the gas supply passage portion and configured to be inflated to shield the window. The cover sheet is attached to the bag body such that the shielding inflatable portion, rather than the gas supply passage portion, is a protected area, by providing a non-covered area in an upper edge side of the gas inflow portion, the non-covered area being an area in which the cover sheet is not disposed.
AIRBAG
An airbag includes an internal pressure adjusting mechanism: including: a tether arranged in a bag part; a long side part; and a short side part; and adjusting an exhaust of the inflation gas: to be in an exhaust mode in which the exhaust is facilitated when the tether is loosened; and to be in an exhaust suppression mode in which the exhaust is suppressed when the tether is stretched. In a state where the tether is loosened during the exhaust mode, facing edge parts of the long side part and the short side part are separable. In a state where the tether is stretched during the exhaust suppression mode, the facing edge part of the long side part and a root side part are inflated around the short side part and a leading edge side part contacts a back surface side of the short side part.
VEHICLE AIRBAG APPARATUS
A vehicle airbag apparatus includes a curtain airbag, a collision direction detector, a deployment inhibitor, and an airbag controller. The curtain airbag is deployable in an interior of a vehicle from an upper portion on a side of the vehicle so as to cover a side window of the vehicle. The collision direction detector detects a collision direction of a collision object and the vehicle. The deployment inhibitor partially suppresses deployment of the curtain airbag. In response to the collision direction detector detecting a substantially forward collision of the vehicle, the airbag controller deploys the curtain airbag in such a manner as to activate the deployment inhibitor to suppress deployment of the curtain airbag over an area interfering with an extending portion of a seat belt being worn by an occupant.
