Airbag apparatus
An airbag apparatus may include an airbag module mounted at a lower end portion of a crash pad; an airbag cushion configured to deploy from the airbag module to deploy in a space between a knee portion and a head portion of a passenger, wherein a tether is connected to the airbag cushion in a deployment direction of the airbag cushion toward at least one of the knee portion, a chest portion, and the head portion of the passenger to form an integrated deployment shape of the airbag cushion; and a release device connected to the tether close to the airbag module, and operated to allow the tether to be released or maintained in a fixed state in a deployment process of the airbag cushion depending on a body shape of the passenger on a seat of the vehicle.
Occupant restraining apparatus, and control system and method thereof
An embodiment occupant restraining apparatus includes a base to be fastened to a body of a vehicle, a support having a first end hinge-connected to the base and a second end configured to support a deployed airbag, and a bellows configured to be expanded by gas to pivot the support. During deployment of the airbag, the bellows is configured to receive the gas in concert with the deployment of the airbag.
Side airbag assembly
A restraint system includes a first seat and a second seat spaced from each other along a cross-vehicle axis. An airbag is supported by the first seat and is inflatable towards the second seat. The airbag includes an upper portion having a top surface and a lower portion having a bottom surface facing in an opposite direction than the top surface. An external tether is releasably engaged with the first seat. The external tether is connected to the top surface and the bottom surface.
Airbag support device and control method thereof
The present disclosure relates to an airbag, and discloses an airbag support device and a control method thereof. The airbag support device includes an airbag cushion embedded in a side surface of a seatback and configured to be inflated and deployed forward from the seatback; a pop-up tether having one end connected to the seatback, and configured to be deployed in a direction in which the airbag cushion is deployed and to penetrate the airbag cushion; and a pop-up tether module provided on a side surface of a seat cushion, having the other end of the pop-up tether connected to an end of a tether pole, and configured so that the pop-up tether between the seatback and the tether pole is pulled while the airbag cushion is deployed to support the airbag cushion by the pop-up tether in a portion penetrating the airbag cushion.
AIRBAG APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
An airbag apparatus for a vehicle is proposed. The airbag apparatus is configured to protect an occupant from an impact during a vehicle collision, to restrain the occupant to minimize occupant injuries, and to have improved storage performance to reduce a seat package volume.
AIRBAG TETHER SEPARATION
An airbag can include active vents to manage the pressure within the airbag when deployed. The active vent can be at least partially controlled by using a tether. A tether separator can be configured to separate the tether. The tether separator can include an explosive. The tether separator can be operatively positioned relative to the tether such that, when the tether separator is activated, the explosive produces shockwaves and/or heat energy. The shockwaves and/or the heat energy can cause the tether to be separated into two pieces. In some instances, a portion of the tether can be held in tension to facilitate the separation of the tether.
Side airbag for vehichles
Disclosed is a side airbag for vehicles including a first cushion coupled to one side of a seat, the first cushion extending from the side surface of the seat in a forward-rearward direction to cover a passenger at the side of the passenger when deployed, an inflator fixed to the seat, the inflator being configured to supply gas to the first cushion, a second cushion connected to the first cushion, the second cushion being bent from the first cushion toward the passenger and extending in a lateral direction, the second cushion being deployed by the gas supplied from the first cushion, and a support tether having one end fixedly coupled to the second cushion and the other end fixedly coupled to the seat, wherein the support tether is bent so as to be slidably coupled to the first cushion between one end and the other end thereof.
Roof rail airbag including a variable-length tether attaching an edge of the roof rail airbag to a vehicle body structure
An airbag assembly according to the present disclosure includes an airbag cushion and a first tether. The airbag cushion is configured to be stored in a roof of a vehicle when the airbag cushion is uninflated. The airbag cushion is configured to at least partially cover an opening in a sidewall of the vehicle when the airbag cushion is inflated. The first tether is coupled to a forward edge of the airbag cushion at a first location. The first tether is configured to be coupled to a body of the vehicle at a second location. A length of the first tether between the first and second locations is configured to vary as the airbag cushion is deployed.
OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM
An occupant protection system includes a first airbag device, a second airbag device, and an airbag control processor. The first airbag device includes a first bag. The first bag is configured to be deployed along a side surface of a compartment of a vehicle upon a side impact of the vehicle. The second airbag device includes a second bag. The second bag includes a shoulder pressing part. The shoulder pressing part is configured to be deployed between a seat back and a shoulder, of an occupant, on an outer side in a vehicle width direction. The airbag control processor is configured to control deployment and non-deployment of the shoulder pressing part of the second airbag device in accordance with a state of the side impact of the vehicle.
Airbag arrangement
An airbag arrangement (3) for a vehicle (1). The airbag arrangement comprises an inflatable airbag (5) and an external extension control member (7) being operatively associated with said airbag. The airbag is adapted to be inflated in a longitudinal direction (x) of the vehicle to a position between an interior portion (13) of the vehicle in front of a seated vehicle occupant (17) and an upper body region (19) of the seated vehicle occupant. The external extension control member has a selectable operative length (l.sub.o). The external extension control member controls deployment of the airbag by means of the selectable operative length. The present disclosure also relates to a vehicle comprising the airbag arrangement and a method for deploying an airbag of the airbag arrangement.
