A camera device includes a windshield information detection camera and a vehicle exterior information detection camera. The windshield information detection camera captures an image to obtain information about a surface of a windshield. The vehicle exterior information detection camera captures an image to obtain information about the vehicle exterior. The windshield information detection camera and the vehicle exterior information detection camera are fixed to a vehicle in a state in which they are also fixed to each other.

LIQUID DROPLET PATH PREDICTION

A system includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to predict a path of a liquid droplet on a surface, and then, actuate one or more vehicle components based on the path.

Sensor cleaning system

A system includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to detect an object exterior to a vehicle, and to actuate a fluid dispenser device based on an opacity of a window and a location of the detected object.

A method of monitoring a windshield of a vehicle including: capturing an image of a windshield of a vehicle; determining that debris is located on the windshield in response to the image of the windshield; determining a location of the debris on the windshield; determining to remove the debris from the windshield; and actuating a drive motor of a wiper system to clean the location, the drive motor being operably connected to a wiper arm having a wiper blade.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A CAPACITIVE RAIN SENSOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, MEASUREMENT SIGNAL INTERFERENCE SUPPRESSION DEVICE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING SUCH A MEASUREMENT SIGNAL INTERFERENCE SUPPRESSION DEVICE

The invention relates to a method for operating a capacitive motor vehicle rain sensor, which has an electrically conductive structure and which is designed to generate an analog measurement signal corresponding to a rain intensity and output same as an output signal, wherein the method has the steps of detecting at least one interference signal, which causes an interference with the analog measurement signal and leads to a measurement signal affected by interference, at least partly suppressing the interference of the measurement signal affected by interference in at least one signal processing step on the basis of the detected interference signal and an output of an at least partially interference-suppressed output signal. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method and to a motor vehicle comprising the device.

INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, PROGRAM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD

An information processing system includes a vehicle and a server that is able to communicate with the vehicle. The server stores weather information indicating the weather. The vehicle receives the weather information from the server and acquires an image in which a scene outside the vehicle is captured when an operating state of an onboard device is not a prescribed operating state corresponding to the weather indicated by the weather information. The vehicle or the server detects the weather from the image. The server updates the weather information to indicate the weather detected from the image when the weather detected from the image and the weather indicated by the weather information do not match and provides information to a client using the updated weather information.

Systems and methods for detecting obstructions in a camera field of view

A system mounted on a vehicle for detecting an obstruction on a surface of a window of the vehicle, a primary camera is mounted inside the vehicle behind the window. The primary camera is configured to acquire images of the environment through the window. A secondary camera is focused on an external surface of the window, and operates to image the obstruction. A portion of the window, i.e. window region is subtended respectively by the field of view of the primary camera and the field of view of the secondary camera. A processor processes respective sequences of image data from both the primary camera and the secondary camera.

Automatic wiper control prohibiting means prohibits execution of automatic wiper control when vehicle stop detecting means detects that a vehicle is stopping and a masking object detecting part determines that a masking object is adhered to an outer surface of a window part. When the vehicle stop detecting means detects that the vehicle is stopping and a state of the masking object detecting part is changed from a state where the masking object detecting part detects that the masking object is adhered to the outer surface of the window part to a state where the masking object detecting part detects that the masking object is not adhered to the outer surface of the window part at a changing time, the automatic wiper control prohibiting means prohibits the execution of said automatic wiper control for a predetermined period of time from the changing time.

Imaging device, object detector and mobile device control system

An imaging device includes a reflection polarization prism having an incident surface on which illumination light emitted from a light emitter is incident and a transmission surface that passes the illumination light entered the incident surface through one surface of a light-transmitting member, an imager including an image sensor having a first light-receiving portion that receives light from a predetermined imaging area transmitting the light-transmitting member and a second light-receiving portion adjacent to the first light-receiving portion that receives the illumination light reflected on an opposite surface to the one surface of the light-transmitting member, and an optical member that emits the light introduced from the predetermined imaging area to the first light-receiving portion and emits the illumination light reflected on the opposite surface of the light-transmitting member to the second light-receiving portion.

Automatic maintenance of front and/or rear windshield visibility

An apparatus comprising an interface and a processing circuit. The interface may be configured to receive (a) a video signal based on a targeted view in a vehicle and (b) one or more status signals from one or more sensors of the vehicle. The processing circuit may be configured to (A) analyze the video signal received from the interface and (B) detect a type of obstruction of a window of the vehicle visible in the video signal in response to (i) a classification of information in the video signal and (ii) one or more of the status signals. The processing circuit may (a) determine a confidence level for the type of obstruction, (b) activate one or more corrective measures when the confidence level is above a pre-defined threshold and (c) adjust the confidence level based on a response of the obstruction to the corrective measures.
