Insulated Work Pants
The present invention relates to insulated work pants that are compact, lightweight, easy to put on and take off and do not have shoulder straps. The insulated work pants are in the form of conventional trousers that have multiple layers of insulating material stitched inside the trousers for trapping body heat and preventing cold from the outside environment in. The pants are specifically designed to protect the lower portion of a user's body and snugly fit around a user's waist using the hook and loop fastener on the waistband. The pants have heavy-duty zippers on the side seam of the pants for tightening the pants to a user's legs.
Outdoor protective garment-like device
A protective device for maintaining body temperature in a living being is provided. The inventive protective device comprises a first sheet member having a left portion and a right portion. The first sheet member has a left edge and a right edge. A first channel member defines structure defining a first channel. The first channel member defines structure which is secured to and overlies a first portion of the left portion of the first sheet member and overlies a first portion of the right portion of the first sheet member. A second channel defining structure defines a second channel, the second channel defining structure secured to and overlying a second portion of the left portion of the first sheet member and overlying a second portion of the right portion of the first sheet member. Each of the channels have a first side and an opposite side opposite the first side. A variable length member is disposed on and extends along the length of each of the channels. There is a connection structure positioned proximate the left edge; and a mating connection structure positioned proximate the right edge.

Care giver display surgical cap to control patient body temperature
A system and method for maintaining a patient's body temperature during and after surgical exposure is provided. A surgical, insulative cap both aids in maintaining the patient's core body temperature at an euthermic range and further incorporates a graphic display panel for providing a remote caregiver informational interface. Vital signs sensors may therefor communicate, either directly or remotely, to said informational interface and allow, access to vital signs information to the caregiver in a convenient manner that does not require diversion of attention from the patient in order to monitor.

CLOTHING WITH RECYCLABLE INSULATION INSERTS
An article of clothing capable of receiving removably attachable inserts that have compartments for containing fill material, the compartments openable so that the fill material can be modified or adjusted according to the desired amount of quality of insulation. The fill material is preferably recycled material.

Biodegradable textiles, masterbatches, and method of making biodegradable fibers
A masterbatch is disclosed, along with associated methods, and biodegradable filaments, fibers, yarns and fabrics. The masterbatch includes 0.2 to 5 mass % CaCO.sub.3, an aliphatic polyester with a repeat unit having from two to six carbons in the chain between ester groups, with the proviso that the 2 to 6 carbons in the chain do not include side chain carbons, and a carrier polymer selected from the group consisting of PET, nylon, other thermoplastic polymers, and combinations thereof.
THERMALLY ADAPTIVE FABRICS AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
A thermally adaptive material configured to assume a lofted configuration and flat configuration in response to different temperatures. The thermally adaptive material includes an adaptive first textile layer with one or more sections of a first material that has a first thermal expansion coefficient and one or more sections of a second material disposed adjacent to the one or more sections of the first material, the one or more sections of the second material having a second thermal expansion coefficient that is different from the first thermal expansion coefficient. The thermally adaptive material also includes a second textile layer disposed opposing the adaptive first textile layer; a plurality of engaging portions between the first textile layer and second textile layer; and one or more cavities defined by the first and second layers that are generated while the adaptive textile is at least in a lofted configuration.
FLAME RESISTANT MATERIAL FOR A PROTECTIVE GARMENT
Oxidized polyacrylonitrile fiber (OPF) containing fabrics when used in the fire service, either in a NFPA 1971 or NFPA 1951 compliant protective garments, offer exceptional comfort and protection characteristics that ensure firefighters can safely perform their duties in structural fire, overhaul, urban search and rescue, and other various missions. OPF containing fabrics used in turnout gear outer shells and compliant with NFPA 1971, provide the best combination of protection as tested by the thermal protective performance test and comfort as tested by the total heat loss/resistance to evaporative heat transfer test.
