A race vest has a front base portion, a back base portion, shoulder straps, a neck aperture, and one or more elastic couplers. Provided is an upper wear allowing an increase in variations of wear coordination of the upper wear. An upper wear 1 includes a front panel 10 having front panel pieces 50 and 51 at left and right. The upper wear 1 is configured such that respective upper parts of the left and right front panel pieces 50 and 51 can be folded back to the back surface sides thereof, to be held at the back surfaces of the front panel pieces 50 and 51, respectively.

An impact diffusing system for protecting a user's head includes a headpiece cage coupled to a thoracic framework. In one aspect, the headpiece cage includes at least two support bars, a plurality of rigid bars surrounding at least a portion of the forehead, top, and sides of the head, and a face mask that encloses at least a portion the user's face. The thoracic framework covers at least a portion of a chest, upper back, and shoulders of the user, and the thoracic framework is attached to the support bars of the headpiece cage in a manner that prevents movement of the headpiece cage relative to the thoracic framework. In another aspect, the system includes a helmet component (formed of e.g., carbon fiber) coupled to a thoracic cage, wherein the helmet component is a solid, unitary piece that surrounds the top, back, and sides of the user's head.

A disposable medical gown (100) includes a body covering portion (101) and optionally one or more sleeves (107,108). Aspects herein are directed to a trim piece assembly that can be incorporated into an article of apparel, where the trim piece assembly is used to house a drawcord. The trim piece assembly is constructed and incorporated into the article of apparel in such a way that there is no topstitching on the external-facing surface of the article of apparel in areas where the trim piece assembly is located.

A hooded garment may include a body portion having a neck opening, an outer hood projecting from the neck opening and having an outer face opening, and an inner hood projecting from the neck opening within the outer hood. The inner hood has an inner face opening facing in a forward direction. A lead is located rearward the inner face opening and extends from an exterior of the inner hood to an interior of the outer hood. A constrictor is connected to the inner hood to constrict the inner face opening without constricting the outer face opening.

A waistband for an article of apparel is provided. The waistband may comprise at least one tunnel structure through which one or more cords may extend to allow tensioning of the waistband through pulling of the cord(s), while additionally providing comfort, stretchability, breathability, and adjustability for the wearer through integration of one or more elastic or elastically resilient portions into the waistband.
