Salt Separation and Destruction of PFAS Utilizing Reverse Osmosis and Salt Separation
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are destroyed by oxidation in supercritical conditions. PFAS in water is concentrated in a reverse osmosis step and salt from the resulting solution is removed in supercritical conditions prior to destruction of PFAS in supercritical conditions.
Apparatus and method for treating waste water containing ammonium salts
Apparatus and methods are related to treating waste water containing ammonium salts, which contains NH.sub.4.sup.+, SO.sub.4.sup.2−, Cl.sup.−, and Na.sup.+. In such a method, the pH value of the waste water to be treated is adjusted to a specific range in advance; sodium sulfate crystal and relatively concentrated ammonia are obtained by first evaporation, and then sodium chloride crystal and relatively dilute ammonia is obtained by second evaporation; alternatively, sodium chloride crystal and relatively concentrated ammonia is obtained by third evaporation, and then sodium sulfate crystal and relatively dilute ammonia are obtained by fourth evaporation. Ammonia, sodium sulfate, and sodium chloride from the waste water are recovered so that the resources in the waste water can be reused.
SILOXANE REMOVAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems for and methods of treating a fluid containing siloxanes, silanes and/or other silicon compounds. A hot box is configured to receive an initial flow of the fluid, react the flow with water at a temperature and pressure suitable for hydrolysis to generate a first treated flow, in which at least a portion is hydrolyzed to produce silicon dioxide and methane, and discharge the first treated flow. A solid removal mechanism can be configured to receive the first treated flow, separate at least a portion of the silicon dioxide as solid material, and discharge the remaining components as a second treated flow. Techniques of the present disclosure can lead to very low siloxane levels.
NANONETS FOR REMOVAL OF CONTAMINANTS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS, KITS THEREFOR AND METHODS OF THEIR USE
Provided are nanonets comprising a) a surfactant aggregate having an average aggregate diameter; and b) a polymer having an average particle diameter which average particle diameter is the same or smaller than the average aggregate diameter, wherein the nanonet has a diameter larger than the average particle diameter. Also provided are kits therefor and methods for sequestering non-water moieties from aqueous solutions using nanonets.
FILTERING APPARATUS FOR LENS POLISHING WASTEWATER AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING POLISHING WASTEWATER
The present invention provides a filtering apparatus for lens polishing wastewater and a system for reducing polishing wastewater, which efficiently remove fine particles such as lens particles and fine lens particles that are mixed into polishing water in a lens cutting and polishing process in a lens polishing machine such as an edger, to reduce the polishing water to be reused in lens polishing, and can prevent water pollution by fundamentally preventing the discharge of polishing water in which fine particles are mixed.
WATER PURIFYING MATERIAL HAVING IRON AS MAIN COMPONENT, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
Provided is a purifying material capable of highly efficiently removing contaminant components from wastewater. A water purifying material having a composition of 30 to 40% total iron, 1 to 5% titanium, 0.1 to 1% magnesium, and 0.1 to 0.8% silica (silicon), and a method for manufacturing the water purifying material including: adding caustic soda to a solution containing 200 to 100 mg/L of bivalent iron, 20 to 100 mg/L of titanium ions, 5 to 50 mg/L of magnesium, and 3 to 30 mg/L of silica under conditions of 30 to 50° C. and pH 6.8 to 7.2 to carry out neutralization and reaction; separating and collecting an obtained solid at 100° C. or less; and drying the collected solid.
A SEPARATION APPARATUS WITH INSERT
A separation apparatus for separating hydrocarbons and water, comprising a vessel (1) and an insert (5, 6) within said vessel (1). The has a bottom (7), a conical wall (8) and a quiecer (10) at the top of the wall (8), which enclose a separation chamber (11). The insert (5, 6) has an inlet pipe (12) for a mixture of water and hydrocarbons and a spreader arrangement (13, 14) arranged inside the separation chamber (11), which directs an inflow of fluids in a tangential direction, setting the fluids into a tangential laminar swirl. The vessel (1) has at least one manhole (3, 4), and said insert bottom (7), wall (8) and quiecer (10) are assembled by a plurality of generally wedge shaped segments (7a-l, 8a-l, 10a-l) having a size that allows the segments (7a-l, 8a-l, 10a-l) to be brought through the manhole (3, 4).
