METHODS FOR REMOVING SULFATE IONS FROM SEAWATER TO FORM INJECTION FLUIDS
20230242807 · 2023-08-03 · ·

According to one or more embodiments, sulfate ions may be removed from seawater to form an injection fluid by a method including passing the seawater and formation water to a mixing tank. The seawater may comprise sulfate ions. The formation water may comprise barium ions. The seawater and formation water may be passed to the mixing tank in a ratio determined by a computerized geochemical model. The method may further include mixing the seawater and formation water to form a mixed fluid and passing the mixed fluid to a clarifier, where a barium sulfate precipitate may be formed and at least a portion of the barium sulfate precipitate may be separated from the mixed fluid. The method may further include passing the mixed fluid to a microfiltration system, where at least a portion of the barium sulfate precipitate may be removed from the mixed fluid to form an injection fluid.

Solubility Enhancing Composition

A solubility enhancing aqueous composition comprising a first solution comprising an anionic component comprising sulfate ions, alone or in combination with bisulfate ions, having a concentration from about 8.00 moles per liter to about 13.00 moles per liter of the first solution volume, and a cationic comprising ammonium ions having a concentration from about 1.45 moles per liter to about 2.01 moles per liter of the first solution volume, combined with a volume of water at least equal to the volume or weight of the first solution forming a second solution is provided. Variations of this general composition are also provided. The compositions are useful for enhancing solubility of a variety of molecules, typically metal ions.

Water purification apparatus and methods for cleaning the water purification apparatus

A water purification apparatus (300) capable of being cleaned at a point of care, and methods for cleaning the water purification apparatus (300) at the point of care. The water purification apparatus (300) and the methods provide an efficient use of a heater (302) for heat disinfection the water purification apparatus (300), e.g. by recirculating heated fluid to further heat the fluid. Several different cleaning programs are provided that may be utilized for cleaning different parts of the water purification apparatus (300).

Chemical testing

A testing device for testing the level of a selected chemical in central heating system water in a central heating system circuit comprises: a sample chamber for holding a sample of central heating system water, the sample chamber being connected to the central heating system circuit; means for controlling filling of the sample chamber with central heating system water from the central heating system circuit, and emptying of the sample chamber; at least one valve for isolating the sample of central heating system water from the heating circuit during testing; and optical testing apparatus including a light source and a detector, for measuring an optical property of the sample of central heating system water isolated within the sample chamber and thereby making a determination as to whether or not the level of the selected chemical in the water is greater than a predetermined threshold level.

Method for treating produced water

A method for treating produced water in a system for treating wastewater is disclosed. The system includes a reverse osmosis unit for removing dissolved solids. The reverse osmosis unit produces a permeate and concentrate. To reduce the fouling potential of the membranes associated with the reverse osmosis unit and/or to increase membrane lifetime and/or to increase system recovery, at least a portion of the concentrate is recycled and mixed with the wastewater stream at a point upstream of the reverse osmosis unit.

A liquid-cooling heat dissipation system capable of regulating water quality includes a first liquid inlet, a first liquid outlet, a heat exchange unit, a sensation unit, a water quality regulating unit for containing and releasing an agent and a control unit. The heat exchange unit has a heat exchanger, a first pump and a mating opening connected with the water quality regulating unit. The sensation unit detects the pH value of a first working liquid and transmits a sensation signal to the control unit. The control unit compares the sensation signal with a preset pH value range to generate and transmit a comparison result to an external interface, whereby the water quality regulating unit is manually controlled to release the agent or not. Alternatively, according to the comparison result, the control unit automatically controls the water quality regulating unit to release the agent or not.
