SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DEWATERING A SLURRY THAT INCLUDES LIGNOCELLULOSIC BIOMASS AND LIQUID
The present disclosure relates to a dewatering systems, and related methods, that are adapted to convey lignocellulosic biomass to separate at least a portion of the water from a lignocellulosic biomass slurry and accumulate the dewatered lignocellulosic biomass. The dewatering system also includes a headspace occupied by a gas that is at a pressure that facilitates transferring the accumulated biomas into a pretreatment reactor having a pressurized headspace. Such a dewatering system can prevent undue mixing and backflow of gas (e.g., steam) from the pretreatment reactor.
Method for flocculating algae using polymers including tannin
A method for separating dispersed algae from an aqueous system is provided. The method includes adding to the aqueous system a polymer including tannin to form flocculated aggregates, and separating the flocculated aggregates from the aqueous system. A method for pretreating water comprising dispersed algae in an algae biofuel production system is also provided. The method includes adding to the water a polymer including tannin to form flocculated aggregates, and separating the flocculated aggregates from the water.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RECLAIMING WATER IN AN ASSEMBLY LINE GROW POD
An assembly line grow pod includes a track extending between a growing region and a sanitizing region, a cart movably engaged with the track, a sanitizer system that applies a sanitizer solution to the cart at the sanitizing region, the sanitizer system including a gray solution tank for storing sanitizer solution runoff collected from the sanitizing region, a cycled solution tank fluidly coupled to the gray solution tank, and a sanitizer reservoir fluidly coupled to the cycled solution tank, and a watering system that provides water to plant matter on the cart at the growing region, the watering system including an untreated water tank for storing water collected from the growing region.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASURING WATER USAGE IN AN ASSEMBLY LINE GROW POD
An assembly line grow pod includes a track extending between a growing region and a sanitizing region, a cart movably engaged with the track, a sanitizer system that applies a sanitizer solution to the cart at the sanitizing region, the sanitizer system including a gray solution tank for storing sanitizer solution runoff collected from the sanitizing region, a watering system that provides water to plant matter on the cart at the growing region, the watering system including an untreated water tank for storing water runoff collected from the growing region, and a flowmeter fluidly coupled to at least one of the sanitizer system and the watering system.
Apparatuses and methods for treating, purifying and/or extracting from wastewater
An efficient, cost-effective, and efficacious technique for removing coal ash and other pollutants from waterways, ponds, marshes, holding tanks and other water sources and supplies. An apparatus comprising an open cage including electromagnets and/or permanent magnets and/or electrodes is supplied with electrical power to extract materials such as rare earth elements and/or heavy metals. The materials levitate to the surface, forming a slurry while leaving water substantially free of such materials. Rare earth magnets electrically connect electrolysis electrode structures and serve as electrolysis electrode segments.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ENHANCED BIOMASS GROWTH IN GREENHOUSES
Devices, systems and methods for using photosynthetic biomass to purify water, reduce indoor air pollution, remove greenhouse gases including CO.sub.2 from outdoor atmospheric air, and produce biofuel, food products, and fertilizer are provided herein. Also provided herein are systems and methods for enhancing growth of a photosynthetic biomass in a greenhouse.
Production of Arginine-Rich Proteins from Wastewater and Use as a Fertilizer
Disclosed are methods to convert nitrogen in a wastewater stream to an arginine-enriched polypeptide, which includes supplying a nitrogen-enriched wastewater stream; culturing an organism in the waste stream that produces an arginine-enriched polypeptide to produce the arginine-enriched polypeptide; and removing the produced arginine-enriched polypeptide from the wastewater stream to create a processed wastewater stream. The methods also include a method to make an arginine-enriched polypeptide enriched fertilizer by flowing the effluent from the culturing step over a cation exchange material to allow binding of the arginine enriched polypeptide to the cation exchange material; and collecting arginine-enriched polypeptide to form the arginine-enriched polypeptide enriched fertilizer. The method also includes enhancing the growth or production of a plant using the fertilizer containing the arginine-enriched polypeptide.
