A chemical-agent dosing apparatus for dosing a heating system with chemical agent. The apparatus comprises a chemical-agent storage chamber which stores a chemical agent and a dosing device which has a dosing chamber and a driving means. The dosing chamber is fluidly connected with the storage chamber and defines a dosing volume for receiving a dose of chemical agent. The driving means drives fluid from the dosing chamber via the dose outlet.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CLEANING AND STERILIZING FLUIDS AND ARTICLES USING ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES
Systems and methods are disclosed for cleaning and sterilizing fluids and other materials. In one implementation, one or more emitters are submerged within a fluid and emit electromagnetic waves having a variable frequency. The frequency of the electromagnetic waves is swept across a frequency range to neutralize bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in the fluid. The emitters may be submerged within a fluid reservoir and/or within the interior of an enclosed fluidic path (e.g., a pipe). Solid materials may be sterilized by immersing the solid materials within the fluid of such a fluid reservoir. In another implementation, electromagnetic waves may be applied to one or more wires that are wrapped around an exterior wall of a pipe. The frequency of the electromagnetic waves may be varied across a frequency range, resulting in scale and other materials being cleaned from the interior wall of the pipe.
Systems and processes employing wet/dry suction filter
Water or wastewater filtration systems and processes have a filter tank having a floor and sidewall defining a filtration zone, an influent conduit, and an effluent conduit. One or more filtration members in the tank having filter media, and one or more cleaning members adjacent at least some portions of the filter media. Generating an effluent stream by generating a pressure differential across submerged portions of the filtration media, causing water in the influent to flow from outside to inside the submerged portions of the filter media. A prime mover rotates the filtration members. A blower and chamber for creating a reduced pressure condition in each of the cleaning members when they are non-submerged, the chamber receiving wet solids removed from non-submerged, wet solids-laden portions of the filter media by the non-submerged cleaning members subsequent to submerged, fouled portions of the filter media being rotated out of the filtration zone.
WATER PURIFIER
A water purifier includes a body part generating purified water, hot water, and sterilization water. The body part includes: a filter purifying water, a hot water module that defines a heating flow path through which the purified water passing through the filter passes and that heats the purified water passing through the heating flow path into hot water, an intermediate flow path connecting the filter to the hot water module, a sterilization water flow path having a first side branched from the intermediate flow path and a second side connected to a water outlet, a sterilization water module installed in the sterilization water flow path and electrolyzing water passing through the sterilization water flow path into sterilization water, a hot water flow path guiding the hot water passing through the hot water module toward a water discharge nozzle, and a controller controlling the hot water and sterilization modules.
Blend for odor control
A method of providing sustained odor control in an extended sewer line is disclosed. The method includes measuring at least one parameter of the sewer line including average wastewater volume, flow rate, and retention time and administering a blended composition which includes an immediate release compound and an extended release compound into the sewer line to control concentration of an odorous compound therein. A method of facilitating sustained odor control in an extended sewer line is also disclosed. The method includes providing the blended composition including the immediate release compound and the extended release compound and instructing a user to administer the blended composition to the sewer line control concentration of the odorous compound therein. A system for providing sustained odor control in the extended sewer line including sensors to measure sewer line parameters and a controller to instruct administration of the blended composition is also disclosed.
Filtration processes and systems
Water or wastewater filtration processes and systems have a plurality of membrane modules, each having filter media therein, the plurality of membrane modules arranged in parallel fluid flow, a main bottom feed conduit, a main top feed conduit, and separate feed conduits fluidly connecting the main bottom feed conduits and the main top feed conduits to respective membrane modules. A main filtrate conduit, and separate filtrate conduits fluidly connect respective membrane modules to the main filtrate conduit. A backwash conduit fluidly connects the main filtrate conduit to respective membrane modules through the main top and bottom feed conduits. A pump having a pump feed conduit and a pump discharge conduit, the pump discharge conduit fluidly connected to the main top and bottom feed conduits, and a plurality of automatically controllable valves positioned in the main top and bottom feed conduits, the main filtrate conduit, the pump discharge conduit, and the backwash conduit, with a controller configured to actuate the plurality of automatically controllable valves to control feed and backwash flows through the membrane modules using pressure developed only by the pump. The pump is preferably operated by a variable-speed prime mover.
