Chemical compositions and methods of using same for remediating low to moderate amounts of sulfur-containing compositions and other contaminants in liquids
A treatment composition for remediating for remediating H.sub.2S and other contaminant(s) in contaminated liquids, comprising: 0.1-10.0 weight % collectively of at least one hydroxide compound; 0.01-3.0 weight % collectively of at least one organic acid selected from a group consisting of fulvic acid and humic acid; 0.01-10.0 wt % of a chelating agent; and at least 75% weight of water.
Organic sludge treatment device and treatment method
To treat organic sludge while keeping facility costs, cement production efficiency, and a reduction in clinker production amount to a minimum. An organic sludge treatment device includes: a fractionation device 7 that fractionates a preheated raw material R2 from a preheater cyclone 4C excluding a bottommost cyclone of a cement burning device 1; a mixing device 8 that mixes an organic sludge S with the fractionated preheated raw material, and that dries the organic sludge using sensible heat of the preheated raw material; and a supply device (mixture chute 12, double-flap damper 13, shut damper 14) that supplies a mixture M from the mixing device to a calciner furnace 5 of the cement burning device or to a duct disposed between a kiln inlet portion of a cement kiln 2 and the calciner furnace. The treatment device may be provided with an introduction device for introducing an exhaust gas G2 including dust, odor and water vapor from the mixing device to a gas outlet of a bottommost cyclone 4A of the cement burning device.
DRUG, DRUG MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND WATER PURIFICATION METHOD
It is an object of the present invention to provide a solid drug that is very convenient to transport and store. In order to achieve the object, a drug according to the present invention is a solid drug that includes a radical generating catalyst and a radical generation source.
Systems, Methods, and Compounds for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Co-Products Thereof
A sequential batch reactor wastewater treatment system and method, a material combination for practicing the method, and a fertilizer co-product deriving therefrom. A pH lowering agent comprising an acid lowers the pH of wastewater. A first compound including chitin or chitosan comprises a filtering medium, a coagulant, and a flocculant, and a second compound comprises an adsorbent and a pH raising agent. Wastewater is mixed and aerated subsequent to introduction of each of the first and second compounds, and flocculation yields treated water and a sludge byproduct that may be dewatered and further processed to yield a useful fertilizer co-product. Within the first compound, diatomaceous earth operates as a filtering medium and bentonite clay acts as a coagulant and filtering medium. Within the second compound, activated carbon, calcium oxide (CaO), and caustic soda (NaOH) are operative to adsorb, disinfect, and raise the pH of the wastewater.
WASTEWATER AERATOR/DIGESTERS
A mixing aerator is disclosed that includes a housing defining a chamber having a bottom end and a top end, the housing having at least one inlet and at least one outlet; and a longitudinally extending diffuser disposed within the chamber and configured to deliver air bubbles into the chamber when the chamber is filled with liquid. The diffuser includes (a) a tubular elastomeric membrane having a plurality of perforations and, within the tubular elastomeric membrane, (b) an air pipe having a plurality of openings, the openings being larger and fewer than the perforations, and the tubular membrane having upper and lower ends that are sealed against an outer surface of the air pipe.
MINERAL-CONTAINING COMPOSITION FOR REDUCING CHLORINE SMELL
The chlorine smell of water is decreased. Provided is a mineral-containing composition for use in the decrease of a chlorine smell, containing potassium ions the concentration of which is the highest of the metal ions present in the mineral-containing composition.
Waste Treatment Package and Formulation for Treating Toilet Waste
A waste treatment includes a package with compartments. A surfactant, an oxidizing agent, and, optionally, a liquid may be disposed within the compartments. The oxidizing agent is within a compartment that does not contain the surfactant or the liquid. A bursting force may unseal a sealed end of each compartment. The liquid flushes the surfactant and the oxidizing agent out of the package into a non-contact agitating toilet. A dual compartment package made with a fluidly disintegrable material may separate the surfactant from the oxidizing agent where the liquid may not be provided. The waste treatment may be mixed with a waste deposited within the non-contact agitating toilet. The package may disintegrate in the presence of the liquid to allow the reactive components to mix. A plurality of waste treatments may be connected. A perforated barrier may separate a first waste treatment from a second waste treatment.
ABSORBENT FOR MUNICIPAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT
There is described a particulate carbon adsorbent comprising 60 to 90% by wt carbon, wherein the particulate carbon adsorbent is a fibrous pyrolysis product of an organic fraction of waste screenings, and wherein the fibrous pyrolysis product predominantly comprises fibres having a diameter in the range about 10-40 μm and a length in the range about 50-500 μm. A method of manufacture is also described. The particulate carbon adsorbent is useful in of odour prevention in wastewater treatment and other wastewater processes.
MINERAL-CONTAINING COMPOSITION FOR PRODUCING ICE FOR IMPROVING FLAVOR OF WATER OR BEVERAGE
Produced in an ice that can be added to water or drink to improve the flavor thereof. Provided is a mineral-containing composition containing potassium ions the concentration of which is the highest of the metal ions present in the mineral-containing composition.
APPARATUS FOR DISPOSING OF ORGANIC OR SEWAGE SLUDGE WASTE
An apparatus for disposing of organic or sewage sludge waste includes: a storage tank configured to collect and accommodate organic or sewage sludge waste; an agitator which is connected to the storage tank to decompose and dry the organic or sewage sludge waste supplied from the storage tank; a first deodorizer which is connected to one side of the agitator to biologically decompose and remove bad-odour substances from a waste gas generated during an agitating process of the organic or sewage sludge waste; a second deodorizer which heats and removes bad-odour substances contained in the waste gas from which the bad-odour substances have been partially removed by the first deodorizer; and a heat exchanger which heats the waste gas, which flows in the second deodorizer, through heat of the waste gas discharged from the second deodorizer.
