Systems and methods for treating produced water
Integrated systems and methods wherein the separation and treatment of produced water may be driven by energy harvested from the produced water.
RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEM
A system for using electrical energy generated by renewable sources is used to hydrolyse water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen and oxygen can be used on-site for the generation of electrical power, or stored in liquid form for later use. Exhaust from a power generator can provide a system for purifying water from non-potable sources, and as an input stream for the electrolysis system. Also described is a self-contained fueling station that can provided purified hydrogen for vehicles running on such a fuel.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL FECAL WASTE AND GARBAGE PROCESSOR AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
At least one aspect of the technology provides a self-contained processing facility configured to convert organic, high water-content waste, such as fecal sludge and garbage, into electricity while also generating and collecting potable water.
IMPROVED CATALYTIC FAST PYROLYSIS PROCESS WITH IMPURITY REMOVAL
The present invention provides an improved catalytic fast pyrolysis process for increased yield of useful and desirable products. In particular, the process comprises an improved catalytic fast pyrolysis process for producing aromatic compounds, such as, for example, benzene, toluene and xylenes, from biomass feedstock containing impurities, such as, for example alkali and alkaline earth metal, sulfur and nitrogen components.
Autonomous Wave Powered Desalination
A wave powered water desalinating device may receive untreated salt water, and produce desalinated fresh water. The device consists of a pressure chamber, with a piston coupled with a pitching-type wave energy converter and configured to move along the major axis of the compression chamber; an inlet one-way valve configured to permit flow into the compression chamber from the exterior; a spring in fluid communication with the piston configured to absorb and control the cyclic pressure of the system; and a reverse osmosis membrane in the interior of the compression chamber such that motion of the piston in the direction of the distal end of the chamber exerts contents of the interior of the chamber against the reverse osmosis membrane producing fresh water.
ENERGY SAVING DESALINATION SYSTEM
An energy-saving desalination system, used for obtaining a salt water from a salt-water source and desalinating to generate a fresh water, and the system includes: a salt-water magnetizing device disposed at an intake for magnetizing the salt water to generate a magnetized salt water; a salt-water filtering device coupled to the salt-water magnetizing device for filtering the magnetized salt water; a salt-water preheating device coupled to the salt-water filtering device for heating the magnetized salt water to reach a middle temperature; a salt-water reheating device coupled to the salt-water preheating device for heating the magnetized salt water to maintain in a higher temperature range; a nebulization device coupled to the salt-water reheating device to nebulize the magnetized salt water having a higher temperature into a mixing fog; and a condensing device coupled to the nebulization device to extract a fresh water from the mixing fog. Wherein a condensation water required by the condensing device is a salt water extracted from the salt-water source.
POWER GENERATING AND WATER PURIFYING SYSTEM
A power generating and water purifying system. The system includes a closed loop power generator, a closed loop heat exchanger, and a closed loop water purifier. Hot brine water vapor travels from a reactor to a turbine, which generates electricity. The hot brine water vapor is then cooled by the closed loop heat exchanger and travels back to the reactor. The electricity powers generators. The electricity further powers an ammonia pump and a coolant compressor of the closed loop heat exchanger. Dirty water enters through a water inlet and is chilled by the closed loop heat exchanger. The water is then directed to a hot water accumulator, in which the water is heated by the closed loop heat exchanger. The water is vaporized by a hot plate and a UV light source. The distilled water is then cooled in a cooling tower and delivered to water tower as purified water.
Water treatment system
Provided is a seawater desalination system including reverse osmosis membrane modules each including: a reverse osmosis membrane; and a pressure vessel installing the reverse osmosis membrane, and configured to obtain permeated water and concentrated water using the reverse osmosis membranes housed in the reverse osmosis membrane modules by supplying seawater to the reverse osmosis membrane modules. The seawater desalination system includes a module group including the reverse osmosis membrane modules connected together in parallel. The seawater is supplied to each of the reverse osmosis membrane modules by being supplied to the module group through first and second seawater supply routes. The first and second seawater supply routes are each provided with a liquid transport pump configured to supply the seawater flowing through the seawater supply route to the module group.
Sensible and Latent Heat Exchangers with Particular Application to Vapor-Compression Desalination
A heat exchanger includes a shell, and a tube assembly disposed in the shell, the tube assembly including at least one tube, wherein the tube has a pair of end sections having a first diameter and a central section extending between the end sections having a second diameter that is greater than the first diameter.
