Portable water treatment system using ozone

An apparatus is configured to introduce ozone into water. The apparatus includes an ozone source that is configured to provide ozone. The apparatus further includes an air pump that is operatively coupled with the ozone source to provide an air stream mixed with the ozone at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure. The apparatus further includes an ozone distributor pneumatically coupled with the air pump to introduce the ozone-mixed air stream into the water. The ozone distributor includes a porous tube set in a tortuous configuration.

Field water purification system filter

A field water purification system filter is described. The filter includes a water tight enclosure formed between two layers of a polymeric material, an inlet and an outlet are coupled to the water tight enclosure. A filter envelope including a quantity of filter media is inside the water tight enclosure. The water filter having a minimal thickness when not filled with water. The filter envelope is formed by a first set of bonded segments of the two layers of polymeric material. The filter can also include an outer channel having a first side formed by the water tight enclosure and a second side opposite from the first side. The second side can include a second set of bonded segments of the two layers of polymeric material interspersed with a set of nonbonded segments, the nonbonded segments defining openings in an intermittent barrier between the outer channel and the filter media.

Disinfecting water device

Described herein are devices for providing drinking fluid from feed sources comprising: a first reservoir, a filter for mechanically removing particles and a second reservoir for receipt of the processed feed fluid. A continually disinfecting element is disposed in either or both reservoirs to remove additional materials from the fluid. Drinking fluid is provided in a portable device. Optional light sources are provided to interact with the disinfecting elements and/or provide an indication of the contained suitability of such disinfecting elements. A method for creating drinking fluid from a feed source is also disclosed.

WATER TREATMENT DEVICE

A water treatment device (100) can include a chamber (104) having an inlet (108) to receive water contaminated with pathogens and an outlet (110) to dispense treated water. The water treatment device (100) can also include a catalytic element (130) disposed in the chamber (104) to deactivate the pathogens in the water via at least one of electrocatalytic activity and photocatalytic activity. The chamber (104) and/or the catalytic element (130) can be configured to mix the water as the water flows from the inlet (108) to the outlet (110) thereby exposing the pathogens in the water to the catalytic element (130).

A beverage filter or treatment bottle system has a bottle, lid, and a beverage improvement component such as a filter element. A filter element may be positioned to separate the interior space of the bottle into a filtered beverage compartment and an unfiltered beverage compartment. A tube passes through the filter into fluid communication with the filtered beverage compartment. The tube extends through the unfiltered beverage compartment to a nozzle in the lid of the bottle. A lid cover is fastenable onto the lid to enclose and close the nozzle. A filter cartridge may be provided. A UV sterilizer may be provided. An air bypass may be provided.

Photocatalytic Composition for Water Purification
20170216821 · 2017-08-03 · ·

The present invention refers to lightweight and settable photocatalytic compositions and solid composites; methods of preparing the compositions and solid composites; and their use in water purification. The compositions are comprised of photocatalysts such as titanium dioxide (TiO.sub.2) and zinc oxide (ZnO), lightweight glass bubbles, and a hydraulic cementing binder. The lightweight and settable photocatalytic compositions can be formed into lightweight photocatalytic solid composites and/or structures by mixing with water and moist curing. This invention also describes relatively simple, fast, and cost effective methodologies to photodope the TiO.sub.2—ZnO compositions and composites with silver (Ag), to enhance and extend the photocatalytic activity from the ultraviolet into the visible light spectrum. The lightweight and settable TiO.sub.2—ZnO and Ag—TiO.sub.2—ZnO compositions are used in making solids, structures, coatings, and continuous or semi-continuous water purification panels for purifying contaminated water.
