Method and device for producing band-shaped glass film
A manufacturing method for a band-shaped glass film (GF) includes use of: a plurality of rollers (10) configured to change a direction of the falling band-shaped glass film (GF) to a horizontal direction; and a first horizontal-conveyance unit (4) configured to convey the band-shaped glass film (GF) in the horizontal direction after the changing of the direction of the band-shaped glass film (GF). After a lower end of the band-shaped glass film (GF) passes through a position between the plurality of rollers (10) being at a retreated position (P2) and the first horizontal-conveyance unit (4), the plurality of rollers (10) are moved from the retreated position (P2) to a regular position (P1) to apply a pressing force to the band-shaped glass film (GF), to thereby cut the band-shaped glass film (GF) along a width direction by bend-breaking.

METHOD FOR SEPARATING A GLASS ELEMENT AND GLASS SUB-ELEMENT
The present disclosure relates to a method for at least section-wise separating a glass element into at least two glass sub-elements along a separation face and a glass sub-element which is manufactured and/or can be manufactured in particular by the method according to the disclosure.
Modular Bottle Etching or Scoring Apparatus, Systems and Methods of Using the Same
Modular bottle etching apparatuses, systems and methods of using the same comprise modular bottle stage elements for holding a bottle and turning a bottle, and a modular etching element having a blade thereon for scoring a glass bottle, or any glass tubular or cylindrical item. The modular bottle stage elements and the modular etching elements are movable, thereby accommodating different sized bottles thereon for precise scoring with the blade.
Method of laser cutting glass using non-diffracting laser beams
Embodiments are directed to systems for laser cutting at least one glass article comprising a pulsed laser assembly and a glass support assembly configured to support the glass article during laser cutting within the pulsed laser assembly, wherein the pulsed laser assembly comprises at least one non-diffracting beam (NDB) forming optical element configured to convert an input beam into a quasi-NDB beam; and at least one beam transforming element configured to convert the quasi-NDB beam into multiple quasi-NDB sub-beams spaced apart a distance of about 1 μm to about 500 μm; wherein the pulsed laser assembly is oriented to deliver one or more pulses of multiple quasi-NDB sub-beams onto a surface of the glass article, wherein each pulse of multiple quasi-NDB sub-beams is operable to cut a plurality of perforations in the glass article.
Method for dividing brittle-material substrate
A cutter edge is pressed against a brittle-material substrate so that a protruding portion of the cutter edge is positioned between a first edge of the brittle-material substrate and a side portion of the cutter edge and that a side portion of the cutter edge is positioned between the protruding portion of the cutter edge and a second edge of the brittle-material substrate. A scribe line is formed by a scratch between a first position closer to the first edge of the first and second edges and a second position closer to the second edge of the first and second edges. After the formation of the scribe line, a crack is extended in a thickness direction from the second position toward the first position along the scribe line, thus forming a crack line.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING DISK-SHAPED GLASS BLANK AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS SUBSTRATE FOR MAGNETIC DISK
A glass blank is cut out from a glass plate by forming a crack starting portion inside the glass plate by moving a first laser beam relative to the glass plate such that a focal position of the laser beam is located in an inner portion of the glass plate in its thickness direction and the focal position forms a circle when viewed from a surface of the glass plate, then causing cracks to develop from the crack starting portion toward main surfaces of the glass plate, and splitting the glass plate to separate, from the glass plate, a glass blank that includes a separation surface having an arithmetic average surface roughness Ra smaller than 0.01 m and a roundness not larger than 15 m. Thereafter, main surfaces of the glass blank are ground or polished.
Laser beam cutting/shaping a glass substrate
An apparatus includes a beam splitter and a plurality of mirrors. The beam splitter is positioned to receive a laser beam from a source and split the received laser beam to a first plurality of split laser beams and a second plurality of split laser beams. The plurality of mirrors is configured to direct the first plurality of split laser beams and further configured to direct the second plurality of split laser beams. The first plurality of split laser beams is directed by the plurality of mirrors is configured to cut a glass substrate. The second plurality of split laser beams is directed by the plurality of mirrors is configured to shape the glass substrate.
APPARATUS FOR CUTTING GLASS LAMINATED SUBSTRATE
Provided is an apparatus for cutting a glass laminated substrate, the apparatus including a first rotating plate, a second rotating plate, and a connection member interposed between the first rotating plate and the second rotating plate and configured to rotate around the first axis, in which a channel having a ring shape surrounding an outer circumferential surface of the connection member is formed between the first rotating plate and the second rotating plate.
Glass element with cut edge and method of producing same
A method is provided for scoring glasses. The method includes the steps of generating a deep crack in the glass along an intended separation line by exerting pressure onto the glass surface using a rigid scoring tool, wherein the scoring tool, by being pressed against the glass surface and due to the advancement force while introducing the deep crack generates a zone of elastic strain in the glass in a direction along the glass surface and perpendicular to the separation line, which extends in an arc in the plane defined by the separation line perpendicular to the glass surface such that one leg of the arc is located close to the contact point of the scoring tool on the glass surface and another leg is located inside the glass. The arc being open towards the advancement/advancement direction of the scoring tool.
