HOOD INCLUDING PARTICLE BARRIER

Disclosed are protective hoods including particle barrier layers to reduce or prevent penetration of the hoods by particulates in the environment of a wearer. The particle barrier layer of a hood is accessible when the hood is intact. A hood described herein optionally includes an aperture for accessing the particle barrier layer. A hood described herein optionally includes a face opening that engages with a face mask to form a protective seal. A hood described herein optionally includes a visual indicator to indicate when the hood is properly positioned with respect to a face mask.

Firefighter hood with protective flap

A firefighter hood comprising a hood body configured to fit around a head of a wearer, wherein the hood body includes a face opening configured to be aligned with a face of the wearer when the hood is worn. The hood further includes a flap coupled to the hood body. The flap is movable between an extended position wherein the flap covers only part of the opening in front view, and a retracted position wherein the flap does not cover any of the opening in front view or covers less of the opening in front view compared to when the flap is in the extended position.

A head protection hood having an outer surface configured to contact a surrounding environment, an inner surface configured to contact the head of a user, a head passage section, a face opening delimited by an edge at the eyes of the user, and a breathing area is provided. The head protection hood includes a frame connected along the edge of the face opening, that receives a visor and that has a first lip resting against the head of the user at an area situated between the root and the tip of the nose, at the front region, at the temples, and at the infra-orbital regions of the face of the user, thus forming a visual compartment separated from said breathing area. The frame further comprises a second peripheral lip situated between the first lip and the visor, the second peripheral lip extending from the frame towards said surrounding environment.

Magnetic mask

A head garment having a base section and a face section is provided where the face section is both affixed to the base section and releasably extends over the face of the user to create a magnetic seal against the elements. The head garment may also include a magnetic fastener to position the face covering section when it is not extended over the face of the user.

Modular face mask

A mask for protecting a head with a face having a nose, mouth, and chin. The mask includes a mask module. The mask module includes an exterior surface and an interior surface. The mask module is sized and shaped to cover a portion of the face. A head module engages the mask module. The head module is configured to engage at least a portion of a user's head.

MODESTY HEAD COVER

Aspects herein are directed to a modesty head cover for use during, for instance, athletic activities. The head cover is formed from a three-panel construction, where unaffixed perimeter edges of the three panels collectively define a face opening and a bottom margin of the head cover. The shaping of the pattern pieces used to form the head cover, and the subsequent seams joining the different panels are selected to produce a flattering fit without fabric bunching while still providing modesty coverage.
