SAFETY HELMET FAN SYSTEM
20220117347 · 2022-04-21 · ·

A safety helmet fan system includes a fan housing carrying a first fan on a first side of the fan housing and a second fan on a second side of the fan housing and configured to be mounted, by a mount connector located between the first side and the second side, on an exterior of a safety helmet shell above a brim of the safety helmet shell, and an elongate cooling air duct connected to the fan housing to direct cooling air flow from the fan housing around the brim and into an interior of the safety helmet shell.

HELMET AIR CIRCULATION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE

The present disclosure provides for devices and methods that actively circulate air into a helmet and around a wearer's face and head. Advantageously, the devices described herein can be added to off-the-shelf protective helmets and can leverage existing passive ventilation features to actively circulate fresh air without compromising protection against mechanical forces. The devices can be added to helmets on a temporary, permanent, or semi-permanent basis and can be used alongside additional protective accessories such visors, lenses, and/or face guards. The devices and methods described herein are be suitable to virtually all protective helmets (e.g. athletic or safety helmets). The devices described herein are portable, non-restrictive, and fully contained in the interior of the helmet. Helmets with integral forced-air circulation are also provided.

Protective helmet

A protective helmet including a visor attached to the external sides of the helmet shell. The shell includes substantially flat mount surfaces on each side which correspond with substantially flat portions on the respective ends of the visor. A fastener hole on the shell aligns with an access hole on the visor so that the two elements can be releasably fastened. The access hole provides space for a fastener to protrude out from the surface of the shell, allowing the visor to sit flush against the shell when fastened together. The helmet may include chin straps which are attached to the inner surface of the shell. The helmet may also include a catch strip on the front of the visor which protrudes from the visor such that it can prevent a cloth helmet cover (sometimes used in games such as Roller Derby) from easily sliding off the helmet.

Hard Hat with Strap System

A hard hat and related impact protection layer is shown. The hard hat includes one or more feature to improve support of the impact protection layer and coupling of the hard hat to the user. Various suspension mechanisms for hard hat outer shells and strap systems are described herein.

FACE AND NECK COVER WITH DROPLET FILTER
20220015491 · 2022-01-20 ·

A face and neck cover includes a fabric tube having an inner surface and a droplet filter attached to the inner surface. The droplet filter includes a first filter layer, a second filter layer joined to the first filter layer along a first fold, and a third filter layer joined to the first filter layer along a second fold. The third filter layer is in contact with the inner surface of the fabric tube. A first filter pocket for holding an optional removable filter medium is formed between the second filter layer and the third filter layer. A second filter pocket is formed between the third filter layer and the inner surface of the fabric tube. The first, second, and third filter layers are preferably integrally formed from one continuous sheet of fabric folded and attached to the fabric tube.

Head Covering Device Providing Filtered Intake and Exhaust Air

A device for covering the head of a user comprising a rigid component comprising a transparent face shield and an air port, a fabric component, wherein the rigid component and the fabric component combine to cover the head of the user and seal around the neck of the user, and an air mover mounted on the rigid component so as to cause air to move either into or out of the air port, a filter that filters air moving through the air port, wherein at least a portion of the fabric component allows air to either move into the device if the air mover moves air out of the air port or move out of the device if the air mover moves air into the air port, and wherein the at least a portion of the fabric allows air to move into or out of the device also filters the air moving into or out of the device.

Protective helmet with multiple pseudo-spherical energy management liners
11172719 · 2021-11-16 · ·

A helmet comprising and outer liner and an inner liner slidably coupled to an interior surface of the outer liner is disclosed. The outer liner comprises an interior surface and the inner liner comprises an exterior surface. The inner liner is composed of an elastically deformable material. A majority of the interior surface of the outer liner and a majority of the exterior surface of the inner liner are both substantially parallel to a pseudo-spherical surface having a coronal cross section that is circular with a first radius and a sagittal cross section that is circular with a second radius different from the first radius. The inner liner is elastically deformable along the interior surface of the outer liner in response to rotation of the outer liner relative to the inner liner caused by an impact to the helmet.
