LIGHTER WEIGHT COMPOSITION MATERIAL WITH LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
A method of making a composition material comparable to strength with regular concrete but with a lower weight and thermal conductivity is provided. The process includes forming a first composition from a foam admixture of a first cementitious slurry and foam. This first composition is set and then pulverized to a fine dust. The fine dust is then added to a second cementitious slurry, producing a lightweight and insulative composition material for construction applications.
Method for the continuous production of a low-density mineral foam
A method for the continuous production of a mineral foam of which the density in the dry state (d) is from 40 to 600 kg/m.sup.3, includes (i) mixing cement; a water reducing agent; 0.5 to 10%, % by weight with respect to the total weight of cement, of ultrafine particles having a liquid-solid contact angle comprised from 30 to 140, and of which the D50 is from 10 to 600 nm; water, with a water/cement weight ratio from 0.3 to 2.5; (ii) adding to the mixture from 0.5 to 10% of a pore-forming agent, % by weight with respect to the weight of cement; (iii) applying the mixture obtained at step (ii) on a support; (iv) leaving the mixture to expand on the support.
System and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets
The present invention relates to a system and method for the production of gypsum board using starch pellets. In accordance with the present disclosure, the starch necessary for board formation is provided in the form of starch pellets. These pellets are mixed with a gypsum slurry in a mixer. The pellets are initially insoluble and do not dissolve. However, during subsequent drying stages, the pellets become soluble and dissolve into the gypsum phase. This both provides the desired starch component and also results in the formation of voids within the set gypsum.

Crosslinked starches for pore forming in ceramics
Disclosed herein are green bodies comprising at least one ceramic-forming powder; at least one binder; and at least one cross-linked starch present in an amount of at least about 20% by weight as a super addition. Further disclosed herein is a method of making a porous ceramic body comprising mixing at least one ceramic-forming powder, at least one solvent such as water, at least one binder, and at least one cross-linked starch present in an amount of about 20% by weight as a super addition to form a batch composition; extruding the batch composition to form a green body; drying the green body; and firing the green body to form a porous ceramic body. Also disclosed herein are methods of screening a green body for making a porous ceramic body.
Gypsum Panel Containing Reclaimed Gypsum
The present invention is directed to a gypsum panel and a method of making such gypsum panel. For instance, in one embodiment, the gypsum panel comprises a gypsum core and a first facing material and a second facing material sandwiching the gypsum core, wherein the gypsum core includes gypsum and one or more components of a reclaim gypsum panel, such as reclaimed gypsum and reclaimed facing material. The methods of the present invention are directed to making the aforementioned gypsum panels by providing the first facing material, providing a gypsum slurry comprising gypsum, water, and one or more components of a reclaim gypsum panel, such as reclaimed gypsum and reclaimed facing material, onto the first facing material, and providing a second facing material on the gypsum slurry.
COMPOSITE PRODUCTS
A composite product comprising a metakaolin-based mineral polymer. The composite product has a number of applications including use as a fire resistant material, use as a thermally insulating material and use as an impact resistance material. Methods of preparing a composite product according to the present invention and a kit of parts for preparing the composite product are also disclosed.
Gypsum boards
A gypsum board according to the invention comprises calcium sulphate dihydrate; Tartaric acid in an amount in the range of 0.01 to 0.1% w based on the weight of calcium sulphate hemihydrate; A fluidizer in an amount of 1.0 to 10.0 kg/m.sup.3; Starch in an amount of 3.0 to 12.0 kg/m.sup.3.
CEMENTITIOUS ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
A cementitious adhesive composition, in particular a tile adhesive, especially for use in automatic tiling systems, includes 10-70 wt.-% of a hydraulic binder, in particular cement, 20-90 wt.-% of aggregates, in particular sand and/or calcium carbonate, and 0.01-5 wt.-% cellulose ether.
