COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING INCREASED STRENGTH IN CEILING, FLOORING, AND BUILDING PRODUCTS
The present invention is directed to products, such as paper and paperboard products, comprising a substrate containing cellulose and top ply comprising microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate, to methods of making such paper and paperboard products, and associated uses of such paper and paperboard products. The microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate material are applied at the stage when the wet substrate is in the process of being formed on the wire of a papermaking machine, thereby avoiding the additional cost of more extensive equipment and machinery as well as in separate drying of a coating. The microfibrillated cellulose facilitates the application of inorganic particulate onto the surface of a wet paper or paperboard substrate when applied thusly, by trapping the inorganic particulate on the surface of the substrate and by giving the composite sufficient strength and a suitable pore structure to make it suitable for printing and other end-use demands.
METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF A MINERAL FOAM FOR FILLING CAVITIES
A method for the production of a cavity filled with a low-density mineral foam includes (i) preparing a cement slurry including Portland cement; ultrafine particles of which the D50 is from 10 to 600 nm; a water reducing agent; a manganese salt; and water; wherein the mass ratio of manganese salts/Portland cement is below 0.014; (ii) adding to the cement slurry obtained after (i) a gas-forming liquid including a gas-forming agent; and a viscosity-modifying agent which is a polymer chosen among anionic bio-based polymer, amphiphilic bio-based polymer, alkali swellable acrylic polymer and mixture thereof; to obtain a foaming slurry; (iii) filling the cavity with the foaming slurry obtained at (ii); (iv) leaving the foaming slurry to expand within the cavity.
CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS WITH AN ACOUSTICALLY TRANSPARENT COATING
Provided is a ceiling tile coated on at least one surface with an acoustically transparent coating which creates pores at the tile surface and comprises a high Tg polymeric binder, titanium dioxide, and particles selected from the group consisting of void latex particles, hollow glass beads, calcium carbonate, calcium magnesium carbonate, calcined clay and any combination thereof. Compositions for acoustically transparent coatings and methods for making a substrate surface acoustically transparent are provided as well.
FILLED POLYURETHANE COMPOSITES WITH SIZE-GRADED FILLERS
Polyurethane composites and methods of preparing polyurethane composites are described herein. The polyurethane composite can comprise (a) a polyurethane formed by the reaction of (i) one or more isocyanates selected from the group consisting of diisocyanates, polyisocyanates, and mixtures thereof, and (ii) one or more polyols; (b) fly ash comprising 50% or greater by weight, fly ash particles having a particle size of from 0.2 micron to 100 microns; and (c) a coarse filler material comprising 80% or greater by weight, filler particles having a particle size of from greater than 250 microns to 10 mm. The coarse filler material can be present in the composite in an amount of from 1% to 40% by weight, based on the total weight of the composite. The weight ratio of the fly ash to the coarse filler material can be from 9:1 to 200:1.
MULTI-FUNCTION ECOLOGICAL EXTERIOR WALL AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR
The disclosure discloses a method for preparing a multifunctional ecological exterior wall, including: preparing a ceramic board of a ceramic thermal insulation waterproof layer; preparing a ceramic sound-absorbing board of a sound-absorbing layer; and installing a ecological exterior wall: leveling a surface of the wall of a building with cement slurry, and applying a cement bonding layer thereon; laying the ceramic thermal insulation waterproof board on the cement bonding layer, and applying the cement bonding layer on the ceramic board; laying the ceramic sound-absorbing board on the cement bonding layer and reserving a gap used to place a pipe; driving the screw-thread steel bolt from the surface of the ceramic sound-absorbing board into the wall obliquely; installing and fixing the pipe in the gap, which is reserved at the upper of the ceramic sound-absorbing board; planting a green plant on the surface of the ceramic board of the sound-absorbing layer.
