Process for the production of potassium sulphate and magnesium sulphate from carnallite and sodium sulphate

According to some embodiments there is provided a process for the recovery of SOP from Sulphate bearing mineral and Carnallite or Sylvenite, comprising: Dissolving Carnallite in water to obtain Sylvenite and high Magnesium Chloride brine; Adding Sodium Sulphate to said Carnallite to produce mixture of Kainte\Leonite, KCl and NaCl precipitant and brine containing Mg Cl.sub.2, KCl, NaCl; Separating the NaCl from the mixture; Obtaining a precipitant mixture of Leonite with KCl; Filtering said Leonite and washing with water to yield pure mixture of Leonite with KCl; Adding KCl to the Leonite with the KCl; and Decompose said Leonite with the KCl to SOP.

FERTILIZERS CONTAINING SLOW AND FAST RELEASE SOURCES OF BORON

A granular fertilizer product having at least two sources of boron having different solubilities to tailor boron availability during the entire growing season of a plant, while reducing the risk of boron toxicity. A first source of boron can include a sodium-based or highly water soluble boron compound such as sodium tetraborate and/or boric acid, while a second source of boron can include a calcium-based boron compound such as colemanite (CaB.sub.3OH).sub.3.(H.sub.2O)) (e.g. when the carrier fertilizer is N- or K-based) and/or boron phosphate (BPO.sub.4) (e.g., when the carrier fertilizer is P-based). The solubility of the first source of boron is higher than the solubility of the second source of boron such that the sources of boron have different release rates into the soil.

PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF POTASSIUM SULPHATE BASED FERTILIZERS
20230286874 · 2023-09-14 ·

The present disclosure relates to a process for the production of potassium sulphate based mineral fertilizers, by means of an exchange reaction between potassium chloride and ammonium sulphate (2KCl+(NH.sub.4).sub.2SO.sub.4<.fwdarw.K.sub.2SO.sub.4+2NH.sub.4Cl) in controlled conditions. The process, subject of the invention, makes it possible to obtain, in a single reaction stage, a crystalline product classifiable as low-chlorine-content mineral fertilizer, containing potassium sulphate, with K.sub.2O in an amount of between 40% and 50% by dry weight, ammoniacal nitrogen in an amount of less than 5% by dry weight and chlorine in an amount of less than 3% by dry weight, with a high potassium-conversion efficiency (calculated as the ratio between what the amount found in the solid main product and the amount introduced as KCl to the reaction with ammonium sulphate) and a by-product, which can be used directly as NK fertilizer (containing nitrogen (N) and potassium oxide (K.sub.2O) both in an amount comprised between 15% and 20% by dry weight) or as raw material for the production of complex fertilizers.
