Acrylic polyester resin and an aqueous coating composition containing the same
There is described an aqueous coating composition, the aqueous coating composition comprising an acrylic polyester resin, obtainable by grafting an acrylic polymer and a polyester material, the polyester material being obtainable by polymerizing: (i) a polyacid component, with (ii) a polyol component. At least one of the polyacid component and/or the polyol component comprises a functional monomer operable to impart functionality on to the polyester resin, such that an acrylic polymer may be grafted with the polyester material via the use of said functionality. The coating composition further containing a crosslinking material, wherein the crosslinking material comprises material according to formula (I); as shown in claim 1; wherein R.sub.1 is selected from aryl (such as C.sub.4 to C.sub.24 aryl), or aralkyl (such as C.sub.5 to C.sub.25 aralkyl); R.sub.2 to R.sub.5 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl (such as C.sub.1 to C.sub.20 alkyl), aryl (such as C.sub.4 to C.sub.24 aryl), aralkyl (such as C.sub.5 to C.sub.25 aralkyl) or —CHR.sub.8OR.sub.9; wherein R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl (such as C.sub.1 to C.sub.20 alkyl), aryl (such as C.sub.4 to C.sub.24 aryl), aralkyl (such as C.sub.5 to C.sub.25 aralkyl), alkoxyalkyl (such as C.sub.2 to C.sub.40 alkoxyalkyl) or an alkaryl (such as C.sub.5 to C.sub.25 alkaryl); wherein at least one of R.sub.2 to R.sub.5, is —CHR.sub.8OR.sub.9, suitably all of R.sub.2 to R.sub.5, are —CHR.sub.8OR.sub.9.

There is described an aqueous coating composition, the aqueous coating composition comprising an acrylic polyester resin, obtainable by grafting an acrylic polymer and a polyester material, the polyester material being obtainable by polymerizing: (i) a polyacid component, with (ii) a polyol component. PHOTOCURABLE MATERIAL COMPOSITION, CURED PRODUCT OF PHOTOCURABLE MATERIAL COMPOSITION AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed is a photocurable material composition having a cured product which has both deflection temperature under load of 40° C. or more and Charpy impact strength (with a notch) of 20 kJ/m.sup.2 or more after ultraviolet irradiation and the cured product thereof. The photocurable material composition comprises at least a monofunctional acrylate having a five-membered ring containing an ether bond and a polycarbonate resin soluble in the monofunctional acrylate, wherein the content of the monofunctional acrylate having a five-membered ring containing an ether bond is 18% by weight to 80% by weight and the content of the polycarbonate resin is 10% by weight to 40% by weight.
PHOTOCURABLE MATERIAL COMPOSITION, CURED PRODUCT OF PHOTOCURABLE MATERIAL COMPOSITION AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

The present disclosure relates to a weather resistance improver including a compound (A) and a compound (B), wherein the compound (A) is a compound having the following structure (1), and the compound (B) is a compound having the following structure (2) or a salt thereof. Provided is a polycarbonate-modified acrylic resin that is a reaction product of a polycarbonate diol (A) obtained from 1,4-butanediol as an essential raw material and an unsaturated monomer mixture (B) comprising as essential components methyl methacrylate, an unsaturated monomer (b1) having a hydroxyl group, and an unsaturated monomer (b2) having a carboxyl group, in which a mass ratio of the unsaturated monomer (b2) in the unsaturated monomer mixture (B) is in a range of 2 to 10%. The polycarbonate-modified acrylic resin can form a coating film having high adhesion to a plastic base material, excellent water resistance adhesion, and fragrance resistance, so that it can be suitably used as a coating material for coating various articles.

A hot-melt adhesive comprising a thermoplastic resin and a first crystalline material, wherein when in differential scanning calorimetric measurement of the hot-melt adhesive, Tc (° C.) is a peak temperature of the highest peak of exothermic peaks observed in a temperature reduction process at 10° C./min following heating to 150° C. and Tm (° C.) is a peak temperature of the highest peak of endothermic peaks observed in a temperature increasing process at 10° C./min following the temperature reduction process, Tm-Tc is 20.0 to 70.0° C., and a tetrahydrofuran-soluble matter of the hot-melt adhesive has a weight-average molecular weight Mw, as measured by gel permeation chromatography, of 100,000 to 400,000.
