Method of conserving irrigation water using a woven fabric substrate
A woven fabric formed of fabric fibers or threads coated with a hydrogel, wherein said hydrogel is not crosslinked or is partially crosslinked to the fabric fibers or thread, wherein the hydrogel has a number of excess reactive molecules that are available for a reaction with one or more molecules solvated in an aqueous solution, and wherein the reactive molecules of the hydrogel can reversibly bond with the molecules solvated in an aqueous solution, such that the reactive molecules of the hydrogel attract the molecules solvated in aqueous solution when the hydrogel coated fabric substrate is exposed to an aqueous solution.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL NANOCOMPOSITES REINFORCED WITH IMPREGNATED CELLULAR CARBON NANOSTRUCTURES
A liquid dispersion made by a process is disclosed. The process includes forming multicellular networks having a diameter of 1,000 μm or smaller by at a temperature of 1100° C. or less, in the presence of a powder of template particles, forming carbon shells, each of the carbon shells generally encapsulating a template particle and together with the encapsulated template particle comprising a heterostructure. The heterostructure comprises a particle diameter of 1,000 μm or smaller and a morphology of interconnected structural subunits and, between the structural subunits, exohedral pores.

Silicone-based protective formulations
Self-healing compositions, method of preparation and uses thereof are disclosed. In an example, a self-healing composition includes a first microcapsule and a second microcapsule. The first microcapsule includes a first polydimethylsiloxane resin, a first silicone fluid, a first functionalized alkoxysilane, and a catalyst capable of catalyzing hydrosilylation reactions, and the second microcapsule includes a second polydimethylsiloxane resin, a second silicone fluid, a second functionalized alkoxysilane, and a hydrogen-terminated dimethyl siloxane resin. In this way, the self-healing composition releases and mixes contents of the first microcapsule and the second microcapsule upon the rupture thereof, imparting a passively initiated repair process to the self-healing composition.
Single-use disposable oxygen sensor
An electrochemical oxygen sensor includes a sensing surface having a working electrode and a reference electrode, a hydrophilic layer formed from an oxygen diffusion-limiting layer emulsion overlaying the working electrode and a hydrophobic membrane formed from a hydrophobic solution disposed over the hydrophilic layer. The hydrophilic layer contains an epoxy network and a hydrophilic polymer. The hydrophobic layer contains an acetate copolymer and a cross-linking agent that reacts with the liquid epoxy resin in the hydrophilic layer forming the epoxy network where the hydrophobic member is water vapor and oxygen permeable.
Bio-based epoxy resins, compositions, and methods thereof
A bio-based epoxy resin obtained from a reaction mixture comprising a glycidyl ether component and a bio-based component comprising a fatty acid and a rosin acid, wherein the glycidyl ether component comprises at least two epoxide groups.
Corrosion-resistant member
A corrosion-resistant member (10) provided with: a base material (16) made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy; a diamond-like carbon film (18) formed on a surface of the base material (16) and made of amorphous carbon (a-C) or hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H); and an epoxy resin-containing coating material (20), which at least fills open pores (24) of the diamond-like carbon film (18).
Epoxy resin, epoxy resin composition, epoxy resin cured product, and composite material
An epoxy resin, comprising an epoxy compound having at least two mesogenic structures and at least one divalent biphenyl group.
STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed herein are compositions including (a) a first component comprising (1) an epoxy-adduct that is the reaction product of reactants comprising a first epoxy compound, a polyol, and an anhydride and/or a diacid and (2) a second epoxy compound; (b) rubber particles having a core/shell structure and/or graphenic carbon particles; and (c) a second component that chemically reacts with the first component at ambient or slightly thermal conditions. Also disclosed herein are compositions including (a) an epoxy-capped flexibilizer; (b) a heat-activated latent curing agent; and optionally (c) rubber particles having a core/shell structure and/or graphenic carbon particles; (d) an epoxy/CTBN adduct; and/or (e) an epoxy/dimer acid adduct. The heat-activated latent curing agent may include at least one reaction product of reactants including an epoxy compound and an amine and/or an alkaloid.
