POLYMER AND RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME
A resin composition capable of forming a cured film having a high refractive index, high transparency and high heat resistance, and a polymer which is used for the resin composition. A polymer having a structural unit of Formula (1):

wherein A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 are each independently an O group or a C(?O)O group; X is a divalent organic group having at least one aromatic ring or heterocyclic ring, wherein, when the X has two or more aromatic rings or heterocyclic rings, the rings are optionally bonded to each other via a single bond, are optionally bonded to each other via a heteroatom, or optionally form a condensed ring; and Y is a divalent organic group having at least one aromatic ring or condensed ring. A resin composition, includes: the polymer; a cross-linking agent; and a solvent.
Thiol group-containing polymer and curable composition thereof
A thiol group-containing polymer represented by:
HS(RS.sub.r).sub.nRSH
wherein R is an organic group including a OCH.sub.2O bond and a branched alkylene group, n is an integer of from 1 to 200, r is an integer of from 1 to 5, an average value of r is 1.1 or more and lower than 1.8, and the thiol group-containing polymer is a liquid at room temperature and has a specific gravity at 23 C. of 1.20 to 1.27.

A thiol group-containing polymer represented by:

wherein R is an organic group including a OCH.sub.2O bond and a branched alkylene group, n is an integer of from 1 to 200, r is an integer of from 1 to 5, an average value of r is 1.1 or more and lower than 1.8, and the thiol group-containing polymer is a liquid at room temperature and has a specific gravity at 23 C. of 1.20 to 1.27.
METHODS FOR MAKING CURED SEALANTS BY ACTINIC RADIATION AND RELATED COMPOSITIONS
Disclosed are methods for making a cured sealant. The methods include depositing an uncured sealant composition on a substrate and exposing the uncured sealant composition to actinic radiation to provide a cured sealant. The uncured sealant composition includes a thiol-terminated polythioether, a polyene comprising a polyvinyl ether and/or a polyallyl compound, and a hydroxy-functional vinyl ether. Related sealant compositions are also disclosed.

Disclosed are methods for making a cured sealant. The methods include depositing an uncured sealant composition on a substrate and exposing the uncured sealant composition to actinic radiation to provide a cured sealant. The uncured sealant composition includes a thiol-terminated polythioether, a polyene comprising a polyvinyl ether and/or a polyallyl compound, and a hydroxy-functional vinyl ether. Related sealant compositions are also disclosed.

A polymerizable composition includes an organoborane-base complex that is a complex of an organoborane and a base, a decomplexing agent that at least partially liberates the organoborane from the organoborane-base complex, a polymerizable thiol-containing component comprising at least one polymerizable thiol-containing compound having a plurality of thiol groups in which the sulfur atom of the thiol group is covalently bonded to carbon, a hydroperoxide, and a polymerizable ethylenically-unsaturated component comprising at least one polymerizable ethylenically-unsaturated compound having a plurality of ethylenically-unsaturated groups. The combined amounts of the thiol-containing and ethylenically-unsaturated compounds total at least 50 percent by weight of all polymerizable material in the polymerizable composition. The composition may be provide as a two-part composition. Polymerized reaction product of the composition and methods of making the composition are also disclosed.
