This invention relates to gel compositions for filling cables, such as communication cables, in particular to gel compositions containing microspheres, to cables comprising said gels, and to methods of preparing such gels

The present invention is concerned with expanded beads of a block copolymer of a polyethylene block and an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer block, wherein a xylene insoluble fraction (A) of the expanded beads by a hot xylene extraction method is 10 to 70% by weight, and a ratio (A/B) of the xylene insoluble fraction (A) to a xylene insoluble fraction (B) of the expanded beads by a hot xylene extraction method when divided into two equal parts and measured is 1.0 to 1.1, and is able to provide expanded beads with excellent in-mold moldability and an expanded beads molded article with excellent fusion bondability and restorability.

A method for producing a heat-shrinkable product is provided. First, a polymer composition containing a polymer, a crosslinking agent and a micro-encapsulated foaming agent uniformly dispensed therein is melt mixed. The foaming agent has a peak activation temperature which is higher than a temperature of the melt mixing. Next, the polymer composition is injection molded into a molded product. This carried out at the peak activation temperature to activate the foaming agent. Then, the molded product is crosslinked within the mold.

Methods for manufacturing articles, including articles of footwear, apparel, and sporting equipment are provided. The methods comprise decorating a plurality of foam particles. The decorating can comprise applying a coating on the foam particles, or embossing or debossing the foam particles, or both. A foamable resin composition includes a styrenic thermoplastic elastomer and a dynamically crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer in a total amount of 100 parts by mass. An amount of the dynamically crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer is 10 to 40 parts by mass. The composition further includes high-temperature expandable microcapsules and low-temperature expandable microcapsules in a total amount of 25 to 50 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the elastomers, and an amount of the low-temperature expandable microcapsules is 17 to 67% by mass relative to the total amount of the two types of microcapsules.
