Water-soluble film, manufacturing method, and package
The present disclosure relates to a water-soluble film comprising polyvinyl alcohol having a polymerization degree of 100 to 3,000 and a polyhydric alcohol plasticizer.
Sealing compositions for water soluble films and methods of using
A sealing composition for use in unit dose packages is provided, including: 70 to 98 wt % water; 1 to 30 wt % of a hydrogen bonding component; and 1 to 30 wt % of a complex forming component.
Superabsorbent materials and methods of making the same
Provided are superabsorbent materials composed of agar, and one or more water-soluble natural polysaccharides, and dietary compositions containing such superabsorbent materials. The disclosed superabsorbent materials have various food and therapeutic applications and can be used as loading vehicles for nutrients and therapeutic agents. Also provided are methods for preparing such superabsorbent materials.
POLYMERIC MICROPARTICLE COMPOSITIONS
A method for producing polymeric microparticle compositions using the steps of: 1) melt processing an immiscible polymeric blend comprising an immiscible polymer matrix and a soluble polymer matrix, 2) dissolving the soluble polymer matrix of the immiscible polymeric blend using a solvent to yield a polymeric microparticle composition, and 3) isolating the polymeric microparticle composition.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING POROUS MATERIAL OF WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMER
The disclosure provides a very simple and convenient method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer. The herein disclosed method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer includes a step of preparing a solution in which a water-soluble polymer is dissolved in a mixed solvent of water mixed with a solvent having a boiling point higher than that of water, and a step of evaporating and thereby removing the mixed solvent from the solution. The solubility of the water-soluble polymer in the solvent having a boiling point higher than that of water is lower than the solubility of the water-soluble polymer in water. Voids are formed, in the step of evaporating and thereby removing the mixed solvent, by the solvent having a boiling point higher than that of water.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING POROUS MATERIAL OF WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMER
The disclosure provides a very simple and convenient method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer. The herein disclosed method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer includes a step of preparing an emulsion containing a water-soluble polymer, water, and a dispersoid, wherein the water-soluble polymer is dissolved and the dispersoid is dispersed in the emulsion, and a step of evaporating and thereby removing the water and the dispersoid from the emulsion. The boiling point of the dispersoid is higher than the boiling point of water. The solubility of the water-soluble polymer in the dispersoid is lower than the solubility of the water-soluble polymer in water.
Improving the purity of materials recycled from disposable absorbent articles
Improving the recovery from recycling a disposable absorbent article including superabsorbent polymer includes separating the article into a mixed polymeric material/cellulosic fiber stream and a superabsorbent polymer/fibers stream; and processing the mixed polymeric material/cellulosic fiber stream using an enzyme to release the cellulosic fibers from the polymeric materials. The method can also include shredding the disposable absorbent article; re-pulping the shredded disposable absorbent article; and dehydrating the superabsorbent polymer, wherein dehydrating includes belching fluid from swollen superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) by immersing swollen SAP in a gel state into a composition for removing moisture, wherein seawater and 0.5 to 3% by weight of calcium chloride based on the weight of seawater are mixed for 10 minutes to 4 hours.
Super absorbent resin having improved solidification resistance, and method for preparing same
Disclosed are a superabsorbent polymer having improved anti-caking properties and a method of preparing the same, and the superabsorbent polymer having improved anti-caking properties includes a superabsorbent polymer, microparticles, and water, and to improve anti-caking properties of the superabsorbent polymer, the temperature of the superabsorbent polymer or water upon addition of water or the aging time upon stirring is adjusted, thereby preventing caking of the particles.
LOW PROTEIN PERCENTAGE GELLING COMPOSITIONS
Described herein are low protein concentration gelling compositions comprising keratin proteins.
METHOD FOR RECOVERING PULP FIBERS FROM USED ABSORBENT ARTICLE
A method is provided which, by a simple process, separates and recovers pulp fibers from a used absorbent article that contains pulp fibers and a superabsorbent polymer. A used absorbent article is treated with an aqueous solution that contains greater than or equal to 0.05 mass % of at least one kind of terpene selected from the group comprising terpene hydrocarbons, terpene aldehydes, and terpene ketones and that contains a deactivating agent that can deactivate the superabsorbent polymer; the superabsorbent polymer is deactivated, the adhesive that bonds together the constituent materials of the absorbent article is dissolved with the terpene to decompose the absorbent article, the pulp fibers are discharged to outside of the absorbent article, and the pulp fibers are separated from the absorbent article and recovered.
