Methods of increasing the pH and decreasing the chloride concentration optionally include increasing the pH, forming a solid salt, rinsing and lowering the pH and/or using an anion exchange material.

AZIDO-CONTAINING MONOMERS, POLYMERS, AND ARTICLES

An azido-containing monomer, a polymer containing monomeric units derived from the azido-containing monomer, and various articles containing a substrate and a coating layer of the polymer positioned on the substrate are provided. The azido groups, which are pendant groups of the polymer, can undergo a click chemistry reaction with an unsaturated compound such as those having a terminal C?CH group, a dibenzocyclooctyne-containing group, an unsaturated bicyclic olefinic group, or an amido group. The click chemistry reaction can be used to covalently attach a fluorescent or bioactive compound to the polymer.

The various embodiments of the present invention disclose an peroxide-vulcanised TPVs based on Hevea Brasiliensis natural rubber, polypropylene and solid sulfonic acid doped polyaniline [PAni.DBSA] with useful electrical conductivities (up to about 2.1+0.2 S/cm] can be produced by using an internal mixer. The peroxide-vulcanised TPVs exhibit useful physical properties and also possess a reasonable good electromagnetic interferences shielding effectiveness. These peroxide-vulcanised TPVs could be recycled up to 4 times without significant loss of their EMI SE, electrical and physical properties. As a result, they have good potential to be used for manufacturing any EMI shielding products, such as EMI shielding seals and gaskets.

DISPERSIBLE ANTIMICROBIAL COMPLEX AND COATINGS THEREFROM

Disclosed are latexes, suspensions, and colloids having a cationic antimicrobial compound complexed with an anionic surfactant. The surfactant may have greater affinity for the antimicrobial compound than other anionic surfactants and other anions in the latex, suspension, or colloid that contribute to disperse phase stability to prevent disrupting the dispersions. Dispersions containing the antimicrobial compound may therefore have a shelf life comparable to dispersions that are otherwise identical but lack the cationic antimicrobial compound and its complexed anionic surfactant. Coatings made with the complexes can exhibit essentially undiminished antimicrobial activity.
