Downhole tool having a sealing element constructed from a polyvinyl alcohol compound
Degradable downhole tools, tool components, and balls are formed from a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) compound. The PVA compound exhibits strength and elasticity properties that are comparable to existing degradable downhole polymers and further exhibits degradability properties that are superior to existing degradable downhole polymers. For different components, the PVA compound may include a reinforcing material such as fiberglass. A plug for use in a wellbore conduit may include a sealing element that is formed of PVA compounds of various types.
Foamed thermoplastic material, method for the manufacture thereof, articles prepared therefrom, and article-forming method
A foamed thermoplastic material includes a thermoplastic material exhibiting, in its unfoamed state, a particular flammability index, flame growth rate, and specific extinction area. The foamed thermoplastic material further includes a plurality of cells having a number average mean diameter of 5 to 150 micrometers present in an amount effective to provide the foamed thermoplastic material with a density that is 10 to 90 percent of the density of the unfoamed thermoplastic material. The foamed thermoplastic material exhibits a desirable tensile elongation and dielectric constant. A process for forming the foamed thermoplastic material, articles including the foamed thermoplastic material, and an article-forming process are also described.
INTER-PENETRATING ELASTOMER NETWORK DERIVED FROM GROUND TIRE RUBBER PARTICLES
Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.
CO-SOLUBILIZATION PROCESS FOR PREPARING MODIFIED BITUMEN AND PRODUCT OBTAINED THEREOF
The present invention relates to a co-solubilization process for preparation of a polymer modified bitumen/asphalt and emulsified polymer modified bitumen/asphalt from bitumen, polymer, emulsifier etc. The present invention further relates to a polymer modified bitumen comprising bitumen and styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) linear co-polymer having high softening point. The present invention also relates to the use of the polymer modified bitumen and its emulsion in in micro-surfacing for maintenance of pavements.
RUBBER COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RUBBER COMPOSITION, AND TIRE
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a rubber composition having satisfactorily low hysteresis loss, while maintaining high wear resistance. In order to achieve the object, a rubber composition contains: a rubber component having diene-based rubber therein; and a tetrazine compound.
PRODUCTION PROCESS OF RUBBER COMPOSITION
The present invention has as its object the provision of a production process of a rubber composition containing a modified conjugated diene-based polymer, which can provide a rubber composition in which processability is excellent, and a filling agent, when contained, has favorable dispersibility therein.
The production process of a rubber composition according to the present invention includes: a first step of kneading a modified conjugated diene-based polymer that is obtained by polymerizing a monomer containing a conjugated diene compound and has at least one nitrogen-containing functional group selected from the group consisting of a primary amino group, a secondary amino group, a tertiary amino group and groups in which these amino groups have been converted into an onium group, and a basic compound having an acid dissociation constant of 8.0 or more; and a second step of kneading the kneaded product obtained in the first step and a cross-linking agent.
Thermoplastic Resin Composition and Article Produced Therefrom
A thermoplastic resin composition and a molded article formed of the same. The thermoplastic resin composition includes: about 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin; about 5 to about 20 parts by weight of a rubber modified aromatic vinyl copolymer resin; about 0.5 to about 3 parts by weight of a maleic anhydride-grafted rubber polymer; about 50 to about 100 parts by weight of glass fibers; about 10 to about 30 parts by weight of barium sulfate; and about 5 to about 20 parts by weight of a phosphorus flame retardant. The thermoplastic resin composition can have high specific gravity and good properties in terms of impact resistance, weather resistance, flame retardancy, fluidity, and the like.
DELAYED SEALING COMPOUNDS FOR SELF-SEALING TYRES
A delayed sealing compound comprising inventive sealing gel, a process for producing this sealing compound, and the use of sealing compounds in tyres with warning ability.
