MINERAL WOOL INSULATION
Mineral wool insulation products are provided. The mineral wool insulation includes a plurality of mineral wool fibers and a wax emulsion applied to the mineral wool fibers. The wax emulsion imparts excellent water resistance and thermal performance properties to the mineral wool insulation.
Composition for coating polymer films, coating process and composite materials obtained
The invention relates to a composition intended for coating polymer films, making it possible to improve the adhesion between the film and a final coating, and to confer good barrier properties on the coated film. The coating composition comprises at least one acrylic and/or methacrylic polymer which has a gel content of at least 50% by weight, relative to the total weight of acrylic and/or methacryclic polymer, at least one crosslinking agent and at least one polyester comprising sulphonyloxy groups, which is water-soluble or water-dispersible.
Nanostructured polyelectrolytes for ion-selective membranes
Nanostructured polyelectrolyte bilayers deposited by Layer-by-Layer deposition on nanoporous membranes can be selectively crosslinked to modify the polyelectrolyte charge density and control ionic selectivity independent of ionic conductivity. For example, the polyelectrolyte bilayer can comprise a cationic polymer layer, such as poly(ethyleneimine), and an anionic polymer layer, such as poly(acrylic acid). Increasing the number of bilayers increases the cation selectivity when the poly(ethyleneimine) layer is crosslinked with glutaraldehyde. Crosslinking the membranes also increases the chemical and mechanical strength of the polyelectrolyte films. This controllable and inexpensive method can be used to create ion-selective and mechanically robust membranes on porous supports for a wide range of applications.
Process for producing polyacetal resin composition
A polyacetal resin composition. An aliphatic polycarboxylic acid having four or more carbons and two or more carboxyl groups and a hindered-phenol antioxidant are incorporated into a polyacetal copolymer obtained by copolymerizing trioxane as a major monomer with a cyclic ether and/or cyclic formal each having at least one carbon-carbon bond as a comonomer using a specific heteropoly acid as a polymerization catalyst, adding, to the resultant reaction product, a compound which is any of the carbonates, hydrogen carbonates, and carboxylates of alkali metal elements or alkaline-earth metal elements, the hydrates of these, and the hydroxides of alkali metal elements or alkaline-earth metal elements, and melt-kneading the mixture to deactivate the polymerization catalyst.
Compositions containing polyanion, ethoxylated cationic polymer and phyllosilicates for improved oxygen barrier coatings
Described is an aqueous composition comprising (a) at least one polyanion, (b) at least one ethoxylated cationic polymer, and (c) at least one phyllosilicate. The composition can be used for providing oxygen barrier properties to a polymer film.
SPIRAL-WOUND GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE ELEMENT, GAS SEPARATION MEMBRANE MODULE, AND GAS SEPARATION APPARATUS
Provided are a spiral-wound gas separation membrane element, a manufacturing method therefor, a gas separation membrane module and a gas separation apparatus that include the element. The element includes a laminated body wound around a perforated central tube and including a separation membrane-flow channel member composite body. The composite body includes a gas separation membrane including a first porous layer and a hydrophilic resin composition layer. The gas separation membrane is folded with the first porous layer being located outside the hydrophilic resin composition layer. The composite body also includes a flow channel member that forms a gas flow channel, the flow channel member being sandwiched in the folded gas separation membrane. The flow channel member is provided with a first cover that covers one end portion of four end portions. The first cover is located closest to a turn-back part of the folded gas separation membrane.
Water-barrier laminate
A water-barrier laminate having a water-trapping layer (1) in which a hygroscopic agent is dispersed, wherein a hygroscopic agent has such a hygroscopic property that the ratio (Ax/Ay) of a hygroscopic amount Ax at a relative humidity of 80% and a hygroscopic amount Ay at a relative humidity of 30% is not less than 3, and the water-trapping layer is positioned between the two inorganic barrier layers (3a) and (3b). The water-barrier laminate exhibits barrier property against the water over extended periods of time.
SILICONE HYDROGEL LENSES WITH WATER-RICH SURFACES
The invention is related to a hydrated silicone hydrogel contact lens having a layered structural configuration: a lower water content silicone hydrogel core (or bulk material) completely covered with a layer of a higher water content hydrogel totally or substantially free of silicone. A hydrated silicone hydrogel contact lens of the invention possesses high oxygen permeability for maintaining the corneal health and a soft, water-rich, lubricious surface for wearing comfort.
ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE HYDROGELS WITH TUNABLE PROPERTIES
A manufacturing method includes: inducing gelation of an electrically conductive polymer to form a gel; infiltrating the gel with a solution including monomers; and polymerizing the monomers to form a secondary polymer network intermixed with the electrically conductive polymer.
