The preparation of the aromatic chemical fiber false eyelashes includes preparation of the aromatic microcapsule including preparation of a wall material solution and a core material solution including a niobate. The core material solution further contains a silane coupling agent and an essential oil or fragrance, where a mass ratio of the essential oil or fragrance to the silane coupling agent to the niobate is (1-3):(1-3):(0.5-1), and the niobate is KNa.sub.2[Nb.sub.24O.sub.72H.sub.21].Math.38H.sub.2O.

GELS COMPRISING A HYDROPHOBIC MATERIAL

The gel compositions as described herein, are less affected by changes in humidity, are readily formed into complex shapes, and can contain high loadings of the hydrophobic material, even when the material is not highly hydrophobic, and provide a more controlled release of the hydrophobic material. It is believed that the slow release is achieved by forming the gel to have a tight cross-linked network with small pore-size. The pore size is correlated to the average correlation length as measured using Small Angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS). By limiting the average correlation length to less than 8 nm, preferably from 0.3 nm to 8 nm, more preferably from 0.3 nm to 4 nm, a long lasting release of the hydrophobic material is achieved, rather than a blooming effect, whereby the hydrophobic material is released in a short burst.

Processing hydroxy-carboxylic acids to polymers

Biomass (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) is processed to produce useful intermediates and products, such as aliphatic hydroxy-carboxylic acid and hydroxyl-carboxylic acid derivatives. These aliphatic hydroxy-carboxylic acids are, in turn, polymerized. The polymerization is carried out using a thin film evaporator or a thin film polymerization/devolatilization device. Conversion of lactic acid to poly lactic acid is an especially useful product to this process.
