Composition Comprising Polyester and Modified Hardwood Lignin
The present invention discloses a composition that may be extruded or injection moulded, comprising a chemically modified hardwood lignin and a polyester. The chemically modified hardwood lignin constitutes 10 to 50 weight-% of the total weight of the composition.
RESIN TUBE
Provided is a resin tube containing a poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) resin component. The poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) resin component includes at least two poly(3-hydroxyalkanoate) resins differing in types and/or contents of constituent monomers. A50% fracture energy of the resin tube, as measured by an impact resistance test, is 0.2 J or more.
BIODEGRADABLE HAIRPIN
A biodegradable hairpin contains: a first clip, a second clip, and a C-shaped flexible retainer. The C-shaped flexible retainer includes a first leg, a second leg, an opening, a peak portion, a first shoulder, and a second shoulder. An inner wall of the C-shaped flexible retainer extends to the first leg and the second leg from the peak portion along a parabolic track, such that a thickness of a cross section of the peak portion is 1.666 times more than a thickness of a cross section of the first leg and a thickness of a cross section of the second leg. The biodegradable hairpin is made of any one or a combination of at least two of Bio-Polybutylene Succinate (PBS), Polylactic acid (PLA), D-polylactide (PDLA), toughener, and nucleating agent, such that the biodegradable hairpin has ductility, malleability, and toughness.
Biodegradable polymer composition for the manufacture of articles having a high heat deflection temperature
This invention relates to a biodegradable polymer composition which is particularly suitable for use in the manufacture of articles having a high heat deflection temperature (HDT) by injection moulding and thermoforming.
Biomass-resource-derived polyester and production process thereof
The present invention provides a resin capable of contributing greatly to solve environmental problems and problems related to exhaustion of fossil fuel resources and having physical properties suited for practical use. The polyester according to the present invention has a diol and a dicarboxylic acid as constituent components and has an amount of terminal acid of 50 equivalents/metric ton or less.
DEGRADABLE FISHING LINES AND NETS
The disclosure provides embodiments of environmentally acceptable fishing lines or fishing nets. Embodiments of the disclosed fishing line or net may comprise a degradable polymer having components derived from i) biomass sources, ii) protein, fatty acid or lipid sources, iii) microbial-based monomers and polymers, iv) agro-based monomers and polymers, v) sugar or starch based monomers and polymers, or combinations thereof, as well as fishing lines and net that further comprise an additive having components derived from i) polyol sources, ii) citrate sources, iii) fatty acid sources, iv) biomass oil sources, or combinations thereof. Some of the embodiments of the disclosed fishing lines or nets may have a suitable fiber core, while other embodiments of the disclosed fishing lines or nets are degradable over a predetermined period of time. The disclosed embodiments are preferred because of the low environmental impact of the disclosed fishing lines or nets when compared to, for example, well known synthetic polymer fishing lines or nets.
Cellulose Ester Composition and Process For Producing Articles Therefrom
A process is disclosed for combining a cellulose ester polymer with a plasticizer. The cellulose ester polymer is in the form of particles and is combined with a wetting agent and the plasticizer while mixing. The wetting agent dramatically improves the ability of the cellulose ester particles and plasticizer to form a homogeneous mixture. During melt processing, in one embodiment, the wetting agent is volatilized and does not remain in the final product.
Biodegradable and safe drinking straws from date palm leaves as substitute for plastic straws
Biodegradable drinking straws from date palm leaves as a substitute for plastic straws. The straws are made by washing the palm tree leaves with a solution of ascorbic acid, 99% ethanol and water, cleaning the palm tree leaves with abrasive sheets, soaking the palm tree leaves, drying the palm tree leaves, heating the palm tree leaves to a temperature selected from a range of 60° C. to 140° C., rolling the palm tree leaves, binding the rolled palm tree leaves using biodegradable food grade adhesive, drying the rolled palm tree leaves.
BIODEGRADABLE RESIN COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A biodegradable resin composition and a method for producing the biodegradable resin composition are disclosed. The biodegradable resin includes three components, polyethylene, a biodegradable resin, and at least one selected from polybutylene adipate terephthalate and maleic anhydride copolymer, thereby providing excellent compatibility and mechanical properties.
Blackout Curtain
A blackout curtain includes a sheet body having a blackout side and a face side that together extend to a perimeter. A fastener is provided for mounting the sheet body to or adjacent a window frame. The sheet body is constructed of a biodegradable and compostable material.
