Disclosed herein are a cannabidiol (CBD)-containing bio-based polyurethane composite material and a preparation thereof. The composite material is prepared from a component A and a component B in a weight ratio of 100:(20-50), where the component A includes 40-60 parts by weight of a vegetable oil-based polyol, 35-50 parts by weight of polyether polyol I, 0-10 parts by weight of polyether polyol II, 0.5-5 parts by weight of CBD, 0-5 parts by weight of a natural pigment, 0.5-3 parts by weight of silicon oil, 0-5 parts by weight of a cross-linking agent, 0.2-1 part by weight of a catalyst and 0.8-4 parts by weight of water, and the component B includes 20-50 parts by weight of modified methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI).
Earth plant compostable biodegradable substrate and method of producing the same
An earth plant-based compostable biodegradable composition for the formation of a bioplastic and method of producing said resin, the composition comprising: about 17.5 to 45% ethanol-based green polyethylene by weight, about 20 to 25% calcium carbonate by weight, about 2 to 12% hemp hurd or soy protein by weight, about 32 to 45% starch by weight, and about 0.5 to 1% biodegradation additive by weight to enable biodegradation and composting of the bioplastic; wherein the composition is produced by first mill grinding the ethanol-based green polyethylene, calcium carbonate, hemp hurd or soy protein, starch and the biodegradation additive into fine powders, then mechanically mixing the fine powders one by one into a final mixture for about 5-25 minutes at a time, dry and without heat, and then heating the final mixture to about 220 to 430 degrees Fahrenheit.
Multifunctional particle additive for enhancement of toughness and degradation in biodegradable polymers
Disclosed is a biodegradable resin composite material including a biodegradable polymer resin and multifunctional particles, wherein: (a) the multifunctional particles include 10-70 wt. % of a hydrophobic active ingredient, 21-72 wt. % of a polysaccharide, 3.80-20 wt. % of a crosslinking agent, 1.00-6 wt. % of a catalyst, 0.10-5 wt. % of a silica flow aid, optionally 0.10-5 wt. % of a desiccant, optionally 0.20-20 wt. % emulsifier, optionally 1-10 wt. % of a degradation enhancer, and optionally 1-10 wt. % of particle dispersion aids; (b) the multifunctional particles are anhydrous; and (c) the hydrophobic active ingredient is encapsulated in a crosslinked polysaccharide matrix. Alternative multifunctional particles useful in the invention are also disclosed.

The present invention provides a chitosan-based composition that can be converted into a self-supporting casted object having good tensile and compressive strength that can also biodegrade at the end of its lifecycle. The composition comprises entirely bio-based or bio-sourced reagents that can be converted to the final product via a polymerization process that does not require the addition of inorganic catalysts, synthetic materials, or otherwise hazardous chemicals to strengthen or modify its water resistance.

A flame retardant and fully biodegradable plastic, prepared from following components with amount by weight: a biodegradable plastic: 70-95 parts; a flame retardant: 1-15 parts; an anti-oxidant: 0-1 part; a lubricant: 0-2 parts; a compatibility agent: 0-3 parts; and a color powder: 0-5 parts; wherein the biodegradable plastic consists of PBS, PBAT, and PLA, and the weight ratio thereof is PLA:PBAT:PBS=1:(1-4):(0-1); the flame retardant consists of decabromodiphenyl ether and diantimony trioxide, and the weight ratio thereof is decabromodiphenyl ether:diantimony trioxide=1:(1-10).
