An impact-resistant polyester material is provided, which includes a polyester resin matrix material, a toughening agent and a compatibilizing agent. The toughening agent and the compatibilizing agent are dispersed in the polyester resin matrix material. The toughening agent is a polyolefin elastomer (POE). The compatibilizing agent is configured to assist in improving compatibility between the toughening agent and the polyester resin matrix material. The compatibilizing agent is at least one of a polyolefin elastomer grafted with glycidyl methacrylate (POE-g-GMA) and a polyolefin elastomer grafted with maleic anhydride (POE-g-MAH). The compatibilizing agent is configured to assist the toughening agent to be dispersed into the polyester resin matrix material with a particle size between 0.5 micrometers and 1.5 micrometers, so that the impact-resistant polyester material has an impact strength of not less than 20 kg-cm/cm.

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composite resin light diffusion plate. The polypropylene composite resin light diffusion plate obtained by mixing hollow spheres made of an inorganic material with an eco-friendly, inexpensive, low specific gravity polypropylene composite resin can improve thermal expansion characteristic (area expansion rate) to a level equal to or superior to those of polycarbonate (PC) and polystyrene (PS), enhance optical characteristics (transmittance, shielding rate), and reduce manufacturing costs. The polypropylene composite resin light diffusion plate according to the present invention is manufactured in a flat plate shape by mixing a plurality of hollow spheres with a polymer resin containing a polypropylene (PP) resin and has an area expansion rate of 0.4-0.7% at 60° C., relative to an area at room temperature, due to mutual bonding of the polypropylene (PP) resin and the plurality of hollow spheres by covalent bonding therebetween.

COMPATIBILIZER AND POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION

There is provided a compatibilizer for polyester resin which can produce better compatibility than conventional counterparts, and a polyester resin composition using the compatibilizer. The compatibilizer comprises a polycarbodiimide compound represented by the formula (1) describe below wherein the carbodiimide equivalent of the polycarbodiimide compound is 280 or higher; and in the formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are residues formed by eliminating a functional group from an organic compound having the one functional group reactive with an isocyanate group; R.sup.3 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two isocyanate groups from a diisocyanate compound; R.sup.4 is a divalent residue formed by eliminating two hydroxyl groups from a diol compound; X.sup.1 and X.sup.2 are bonds formed by reaction of the functional group of the organic compound with one of the two isocyanate groups of the diisocyanate compound; and m and n=1 to 20, m+n≤25, and p=0 to 39, provided that the number of carbodiimide groups in one molecule is 2 to 40.

Painting in commercial, residential, and retail environments requires extreme care to avoid paint being deposited where it is not required. Drop cloths are commonly used to protect a floor or furniture during the painting process. However, these are generally simply plastic sheets to provide a barrier to the liquid paint and nothing more. Accordingly, it would be advantageous to provide a drop sheet or tarp that supports a liquid material drying process such as by dehydration, coagulate, etc. or form solid materials thereby reducing the instances of subsequent paint transfer from the drop sheet or tarp directly or indirectly to other surfaces and/or objects. It would also be advantageous to drop sheet or tarp that provides a non-slip surface which prevents the drop sheet from sliding around and remains well in place without additional weights, tape, etc.

The invention relates to a composition comprising A) a polyester, B) a polyolefin and C) a compatibilizer, wherein C) is a functionalized polyolefin containing hydroxyl functional groups or a reaction product of the functionalized polyolefin and a polyester, wherein the total amount of A) and B) with respect to the total composition is at least 77 wt % and the amount of C) with respect to the total composition is 0.1 to 23 wt %.
