Provided is a photoelectric conversion element including: a first electrode that includes a photosensitive layer containing a light absorbing agent on a conductive support; and a second electrode that is opposite to the first electrode. The light absorbing agent includes a compound having a perovskite-type crystal structure that includes a cation of an element of Group 1 in the periodic table or a cationic organic group A, a cation of a metal atom M other than the element of Group 1 in the periodic table, and an anion of an anionic atom or atomic group X. A hole transport layer, which includes a hole transporting material, is provided between the first electrode and the second electrode. The hole transporting material includes a compound represented by any one of the following Formulae (1) to (4).

Provided are dyes and compositions which are useful in a number of applications, such as the detection and monitoring protein aggregation, kinetic studies of protein aggregation, neurofibrillary plaques analysis, evaluation of protein formulation stability, protein thermal stability shift assay and analysis of molecular chaperone activity. These dyes and compositions are also useful as probes in nucleic acid and protein detection.
Composition and synthesis of aggregation-induced emission materials
The present subject matter relates to compositions containing and synthesis of fluorescent materials e made from tetraphenylethylene (TPE) derivative compounds exhibiting aggregation induced emission (AIE) properties. Further contemplated herein are applications for TPE derivative compounds such as electroluminescent devices since they have a high efficiency, low turn on voltage, and excellent brightness. Additionally, application of TPE derivatives exhibiting AIE properties in various fields such as OLEDs, fingerprinting and forensic technology, and various other biological and industrial sectors are discussed.
Methods and compositions for reducing the proliferation of gram positive bacteria
Provided herein are methods for inducing cell death in a gram positive bacterium and methods for reducing the proliferation of a gram positive bacterium that include contacting a gram positive bacterium with a dye (e.g., an azo dye) and a TarO inhibitor. Also provided are methods of treating a subject having a gram positive bacterial infection that include administering to a subject having a gram positive bacterial infection a dye (e.g., an azo dye) and a TarO inhibitor. Also provided are compositions containing a dye (e.g., an azo dye) and a TarO inhibitor, and kits containing at least one of these compositions.
