LOOP MEMBER AND DIAPER
To provide a loop member capable of striking a balance between good initial engagement strength and good engagement strength durability, and a diaper including the same.
MALE TOUCH FASTENER ELEMENTS
A male touch fastener product with a resin surface and an array of spaced-apart male touch fastener elements carried on the surface. Each touch fastener element has a stem extending from the surface and a head disposed at a distal end of the stem and extending laterally from the stem to a distal edge overhanging the surface. The head, stem and surface form a contiguous mass of resin, the head. The distal edge has multiple toes extending laterally outward and varying in shape and size about the edge, with adjacent toes having facing, free-form resin surfaces defining crevices therebetween. The fastener element is particularly flexible and engages with very fine fibers.
Loop element of hook/loop fastener and method of making same
A hook-and-loop fastener has a hook element comprising a substrate having a face from which projects a multiplicity of hooks and a loop element formed by of a fiber web. The fiber web is formed by a homogenous mixture of first multicomponent filaments each formed by a high-melting-point polymer and a low-melting-point polyolefinic polymer and second polyolefinic monocomponent filaments. The first filaments constitute between 20% and 80% by weight of the mixture. The fiber web has a face formed with a patterned array of dense bonded regions of a predetermined small thickness interspersed with less dense open regions of a predetermined big thickness substantially greater than the small thickness of the small thickness interspersed with less dense open regions of a predetermined big thickness substantially greater than the small thickness of the bonded regions so that the filaments of the open regions form loops.
Sheet Of Loop Material, Apparatus And Method For Forming Same
A web of nonwoven fabric suitable for, e.g., the loop portion of a hook-and-loop fastening system. The method for making this material relies on differential shrinkage of different layers to cause the loops to self-form. The method is robust and simpler than that previously used for similar constructions.
Connection system, connection arrangement and method
A connection system has a first adhesion segment, on which a first connection region is formed, a second adhesion segment, on which a second connection region is formed, and a solidifiable liquid connection substance for connecting the two adhesion segments in a material fit, wherein at least one of the two connection regions is formed flexibly, such that, when the liquid connection substance is introduced between the two connection regions which are opposite one another in an assembly arrangement of the two adhesion segments, a material connection is formed between the two connection regions automatically as a result of the elastocapillary effect via the liquid connection substance.
SHEET OF LOOP MATERIAL, METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING SAME
A sheet of loop material having utility as the landing zone in the manufacture of, e.g. disposable diapers and having excellent properties and an exceptionally low basis weight. Methods and apparatus for forming the sheet of loop material are also disclosed.
Method of making a mechanical fastener using a crowned surface
A method of making a mechanical fastener. The method includes providing a slit web having mechanical fastening elements, applying tension to the slit web in the machine direction, and spreading the slit web in the cross-machine direction by moving the slit web over a crowned surface to provide a spread mechanical fastening web. The slit web includes a plurality of interrupted slits that are interrupted by intact bridging regions of the web. The crowned surface may be an air bearing, or at least a portion of the crowned surface is a low-friction surface, and the crowned surface and the slit web are not moving at the same speed in the same direction. The crowned surface may be provided with at least one ridge.
UNBROKEN LOOP POLYMER FILM AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A polymer composite is disclosed and a method of making the same. The polymer composite includes an unbroken loop fabric having first second sides and a polymer film. The polymer film has first and second sides, the first side of the polymer film being bonded to the second side of the unbroken loop fabric. The polymer film is a polymer selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, or any combination thereof. The polymer composite may also include a polymer sheet with first and second sides. The first side of the polymer sheet is bonded to the second side of the polymer film. The polymer sheet may include a polymer selected from polyethylene, polypropylene, or any combination thereof.
Fastening device
A fastening device has a first fastening member with a plurality of teeth and a second fastening member with a plurality of sockets which are sequentially engagable in tooth and socket pairs in an engagement direction by relative rotation of the tooth and socket. Each tooth has a first surface and a second surface fixed relative to the first surface. Each socket has a recess defined by a first wall and second wall fixed relative to the first wall. Upon engagement, the first and second surfaces of the tooth abut the respective first and second walls of the recess and prevent relative movement of the tooth in the engagement direction and a portion of the first wall of the socket closely abutting the first surface of the tooth is disposed between the tooth and a portion of the first fastening member and prevents relative separation of the tooth and socket.
